Needing advice on vegan smoothies?!

Question: Needing advice on vegan smoothies?
I recently found out that my body has a low tolerance to meat and dairy I almost always get sick when I consume it, and I'm looking for a new lifestyle change by going vegan and I'm curious on what is consumed in a daily diet of just vegan food does it only consist of fresh raw smoothies and raw fruit and veggies thru out the day or smoothies only obviously not but I'm confused lol? I researched it on a few web pages but there is a lot of confusion on vegan and vegetarian diets so I am just curious any help and advice would be great thanks... also site of great smoothies combinations or a diet pamphlets .... peace

use a lot of bananas in your smoothies, the potassium is good.

I'd suggest going to the doctor and getting tested for allergies, first of all. It'll help you work out exactly what you can and can't eat, and then use that as a starting point for ideas. They can also see if there's an underlying cause for the intolerance which perhaps can be treated.

I'd also suggest that going directly from being an omnivore to being vegan might be a shock to the system. Do it gradually, cut out (say) red meat for a few months and see how you go, then maybe consider something else.

But yeah. Your answer is "find out what is actually making you ill, and go from there."

From what you've said, your intention is to remove meat from you diet. You could try browsing into Chinese vegetarian cookbook which provide you recipes for proper meals instead of blended drinks and cold salads. Your options could range from mushrooms, vegetables, bean products, vegetable soup eg, pumpkin, tomato, carrot.. add a little spice for CURRY and maybe some MISO soup. Don't just go vegan, go global. Then you'll have a handfull of recipes from all over the world.. If you say smoothies, i rather go for some vegan cakes or pastry like sunflower seeds, pumkin cake for they have much more fibre!

Vegans definitely eat more than just smoothies & fresh raw produce. You may be thinking of raw vegans, but even they eat more than that. Veganism is simply avoiding animal derived food, products, etc. as much as is reasonably possible. So, vegans don't eat meat, dairy, eggs, honey, many lesser known ingredients, etc. They don't wear leather, wool, silk, fur, etc. and don't use items tested on animals or containing animal ingredients like lanolin and many others. They also oppose "entertainment" like circuses (the type with animals), rodeos, and so on. Raw vegans do all of that and also don't eat food cooked above a certain temperature, usually 104-118 degrees F. If you were only vegan in a dietary sense, then you would be a strict vegetarian, not vegan.

A healthy, balanced vegan diet would include veggies, fruit, whole grains, legumes, seeds & nuts, healthy fats, etc. To get a better idea of meals & such, try browsing around some vegan recipe sites. http://www.vegweb.com is a good place to start. As far as smoothies, I usually only make them when I have a good amount of fruit to use up before it goes bad, but I have known some people who have them on a more regular basis. I've never used a recipe for a smoothie. I just use a combination of whatever fresh fruit I have & add in some frozen, a splash of "milk" or juice and some sweetener. Sometimes I'll throw in some ground flax seeds as well.
