Is my oatmeal bad for a diabetic?!

Question: Is my oatmeal bad for a diabetic?
I'm using Quaker Instant Oats. They say the glycemic load should be below 20. Okay, I calculate the GL by (GL)(Grams of Carbs) divided by (100). Okay, that gives me 52.65 WTF?! That's like... a CUP of effing oatmeal. Can it be THAT bad?

I'm diabetic and eating oatmeal right now. I was always under the impression that it was alright for diabetics. Check your sugar 2 hours after you eat it to see how if affects you.

Switch to old fashioned or steel cut oats, these are less processed. Your body will work harder to absorb the sugar in these carbs.

I work in dietary at nursing it good to eat.
