How do vegans feel about breast feeding?!

Question: How do vegans feel about breast feeding?
I learned recently that the difference between a vegetarian and a vegan is that while neither eat meat, vegetarians are willing to eat eggs and milk, but vegans don't eat any animal products. So I was just wondering how vegans feel about breast feeding.

Answers:

Hi, the idea behind veganism is not to participate in any form of animal exploitation. Since a mother breastfeeds voluntarily this is not exploitation. Unlike a human milking a cow, a mother freely choses to feed her baby.

Breastfeeding is the most natural thing in the world, it's only drinking another animals breastmilk that we see as unnatural.

My friend is a vegan. She says that she is a vegan because when animals are bred for food they are often treated with cruelty such as battery farm chickens. But the whole point of veganism is to stop animals being exploited and seeing as a mother breastfeeds voluntarily this is not exploitation. Unlike a human milking a cow or taking eggs from a chicken, a mother choses to feed her baby freely.

My friend feels that breast feeding is totally normal. It's only when humans take other animals milk or other animal products and treat them cruelly when they feel that it is wrong.

My friend who is a vegan.

I think breast-feeding is wonderful for the baby and the mother,
the bonding of both and the antibodies & nutrients found in breast milk.

There is absolutely no reason for a vegan to be against breast feeding,
most, like me, I'd imagine are for it.

A baby drinking milk from his/her mother is the most natural thing we can do as human beings. Drinking milk from another animal is the most unnatural thing we can do as human beings.

There is no conflict with breast feeding and being vegan.

Let vegans worry about that since they seem to worry about everything else. :)

Some Moms don't like to breast feed as they "feel like a cow"!
