Groovykarma: Bill Clinton went pescetarian, not vegetarian (let alone vegan). Granted, he only eats fish once in a while, but even once in a while makes him a non-vegetarian. I'm glad, however, that he's taken the step of completely reforming his diet for the sake of his health and, more importantly, spoken publicly of it. Because he's such a well-known (and, for the most part, well-respected) person throughout the world, he has much more influence on others than you or I do (and a much wider audience). If he can make even just a few people rethink their diets and stop eating themselves into a triple-bypass, then it's a very good thing (for themselves and, ultimately, for the several years' worth of animals they would otherwise have gorged themselves upon).

Now on to the question.

There are plenty of websites you can go to. Here are just a few:

Vegan!

Meat is high in unhealthy fats and calories. Cattle are fed hormones and given grain that has been treated with chemicals.
There are many foods that we can eat and be healthy without eating meat.
Many people who eat a lot of meat are over weight and/or have high cholesterol. Even President Clinton went vegan after having his last heart surgery.
Eating a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables as the main staple in our diet is very healthy. Also, adding a whole grains to our diet are necessary and healthy; this may also prevent many cancer and diseases. Adding beans and legumes are high in protein and they do not have the high unhealthy fats.
Eating a healthy vegetarian/vegan lifestyle is not difficult, is not expensive, and with some planning and research can be very rewarding. In fact I saved a lot of money when I quit buying meat when I compare to what I am spending today.
