eat as many fruits and veggies as you want.
as for the jello and stuff. Some foods contain animal by-products. The best way to know what to stay away from is to google "list of animal by-products". Learn some of the main ones, and check packages before you eat something.
Everyone has to decide for themselves where they draw the line. I personally am not that strict. I of course stay away from broths and things like that, but as for things like gummy fruit snacks that contain lactic acid... i will eat those on occasion. Its not conducive to my lifestyle to go crazy over every morsel of food.
Everything with Gelatin in it is made from animal bones. I am a vegetarian and I have found that its difficult to not eat things with gelatin in them.. Jello, pudding, Even the icing on pop tarts. Just check the ingredients on things before you eat them.
Also, You are not an idiot, you are AWESOME :D
I lost 25 pounds when I stopped eating meat and I feel great! The reason America is so fat is because they eat three times the protein they actually need. So if anyone calls you an idiot tell them to suck on that! :))
I'm a vegetarian.
I go through at least 2 packs of gum a week.
I think you'll be ok in that part xD
And living without marshmallows?
Give me a break.
If it doesn't bother you, eat it.
You need to eat A LOT of beans to get an adequate amount of protein.
Being vegetarian isn't just fruits and veggies.
You need to balance out your diet with maybe veggie dogs, or veggie hamburgers. Usually made with soy.
I eat probably 2 servings of some kind of fruit a day, and maybe a little more for vegetables.
When I eat vegetables, it's usually just in a big salad, and when I eat fruit, I just eat the fruit xD
Experiment. My mom makes these really good patties with vegetarian...I'm not sure what you'd call it. I guess it's the soy equivalent of ground meat. And with cheese.
Wraps, Stirfrys, all that is great.
You can put ANYTHING in rice to make it more healthy and tasty.
Being a vegetarian isn't easy.
You need to explore your supermarket. Go on a treasure hunt for vegetarian foods XD
Good Luck!
