My mom forces me to be vegan?!

Question: My mom forces me to be vegan?
My mom forces me to be vegan. Believe me there's no changing my moms mind so don't even attempt giving me tips on that. I'm 15, growing full pubic hair, fair amount of leg hair, a little armpit hair and a tiny amount of moustache hair. I've been working out for over a year with little results. I take whey protien shakes every day. My dad Started working out at 14.5 and by 15 was ripped, started shaving at 13, on a regular diet. Most of the men on both sides of the family have about the same story. I think it the diet thats making puberty go slower for me. Any thoughts, tips, etc?

Your mom isn't forcing you to be vegan. My kids are 17 and 19 and they wouldn't be vegan just because I am if they didn't want to. Whey isn't vegan and I'm sure you're allowed to leave the house and eat whatever you like.

There are vegan body builders. If it's truly the case that your mom is forcing you to be vegan then there are all sorts of references online to vegan body building and still being ripped. It's definitely a better diet for your body. Seriously don't know why you want all that hair since most girls like clean cut guys and if you go the other way a lot of them shave all their hair off. My advice is Grow Up and be thankful that your mom cares about your diet that she will choose one that won't have lasting negative side effects.

it is not guarenteed that you will develop the same as your parents. I dont know what crazy person started that rumor. Sure, youll share some things with your parents, but you wont develop in exactly the same way. Sorry i guess, but you just got a little screwed by DNA. Just keep working at it. Eating a big plate of greasy bacon wont make you hot anyway.. it would make you gross.

1. You sound about average for a 15-year-old to me. Most boys don't get shoulders until they're 18 or 19.
2. Anyway, if you take whey, you're not even vegan.
3. And your mom might not cook you meat, but she can't control what you eat away from the house.
4. So don't stress out over it.

So basically you want to speed up puberty? Tough luck, everyone is different and theres no changing that. My guess is that your normal, and will develop in your own time! Don't worry about it! If you really want, see a doctor!

Why don't you amp up your vegetable protein content? And if you are taking whey, you are not vegan...

You're 15. You have more important things to be doing than worrying about body hair.

If you can't stand your Mom, move out. This is the advise I always give ungrateful kids, regardless of diet preferences who whine about their parents not being "supportive" as if that is the only thing parents are good for. Unless you can prove to Social Services that your Mother's "rules" about eating is detrimental to your health, and the inability to grow a lot facial hair and being "ripped" are not even valid criteria, no jury in the world will convict her. Simply put, saying "Mom stop it!! I want to grow a beard and be like Arnold" is not going to cut it.

It is more likely because the diet you're on, the being a Vegan, that's probably not letting your muscles grow like your father did at your age...you probably need just a small amount of meat in your diet so your muscles could grow and expand. Growing muscle really depends on what you're eating and what kind of exercises you're doing, So I hope this answer works for you...take care. =]
