Question: So why are Tomatoes and Avocados fruit?
I was told because they have seeds and grow from a plant. Is this true?

You are correct, it is because they have seeds. It's really interesting, once you learn this fact, to see how many things that we call vegetables are actually fruits! I don't wanna name any, because it's fun to just keep an eye out and be like "OH HEY!" when you see one!



The same reason that cucumbers, eggplant, peppers and squash are all fruits. Simply put, a fruit is the part of the plant that contains the seeds.



Tomatoes were classified as vegetables in the US only for tax purposes. They have always been fruit.



Because they have seeds, any seed case is a fruit. That makes pumpkin a fruit too



because they yeah grow on trees



i think its cause they have seeds
