Confused about processed salt and sea salt?!

Question: Confused about processed salt and sea salt?
Says table salt is bad and unrefined sea salt is best BUT what if I think I'm Iodine Deficiency and regular salt has that and I can't eat seaweed I'll vomit. SO, help me out guys : ) Any tips on how to get my thyroid kickin again?

Answers:

They are nutritionally the same. Other then iodine is often added to table salt. Table salt comes from salt mines (meaning old sea salt). It is crushed and often has other trace minerals in it. Sea salt naturally has iodine but in very small amounts. They are all about 99.99% purse sodium chloride.

Neither is better for you then the other. It is just hype.

You are taking the advice to avoid processed foods to the the extreme...it wasn't intended that way.

Using your logic - sea salt itself is also processed because it was extracted from sea water.

If you need iodine - feel free to use iodized salt. It's identical to most sea salts except it is usually in larger crystals.

There are iodine pills. Or eat fish. I'm a vegetarian and have been for 10 years and I have to take an iodine pill to keep my levels up.

Been a vegetarian for 10 years and studying nutrition for 8 years.
