Do you recommend becoming a vegetarian?!
Answers:
Good for you for looking into becoming a vegetarian! :D
It honestly depends, theirs unhealthy vegetarians, healthy vegetarians, unhealthy meat eaters, healthy meat eaters.
When i first became a vegetarian, i didn't really think about being healthy, so i ended up getting kinda sick and loosing a lot of weight accidently; it was a problem. But as soon as i started to be smart about being a vegetarian, i stayed a lot healthier, felt better.
If you are willing to be a vegetarian healthfully GO FOR IT! I'd do you homework, and read up on how to get enough nutrients through non-meat food. Great beginning veg book: laurel's kitchen
You won't become ill if your careful to eat enough fruits and veggies, whole grains, nuts, legumes, seeds, and healthy fats and oils, don't forget the occasional treat. :D

Be sure to not count calories, if you want a guideline on how much to eat, look at the food pyramid above. Counting calories usually leads to eating disorders, self depravation, or bingeing. I can't tell you how many people went crazy from doing that.
Other words of wisdom: Watch out for animal ingredients in foods that you least expect it: anchovies in pizza sauce and dressing, cows stomach lining in cheese, crushed beetles in red food coloring, gelatin in marshmallows, fish oil in some medications ect.
also, be sure to take a multivitamin to ensure that you get all the nutrients you need, i'm a very healthy vegetarian, but i still take one just in case.
Good luck being veggie, you will be just fine as long as you follow the food pyramid and listen to your body. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns!
Go for it!
It is the position of the American Dietetic Association that appropriately planned vegetarian diets, including total vegetarian or vegan diets, are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases. Well-planned vegetarian diets are appropriate for individuals during all stages of the life cycle, including pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, and adolescence, and for athletes. A vegetarian diet is defined as one that does not include meat (including fowl) or seafood, or products containing those foods.

I'm a healthy vegan.
yes I would......
I spent 13 years a lactose vegan....(ate fish, milk and eggs)
and I had less cavities, was not overweight, and had more energy.....
I would supplement my new eating habits with calcium, magnesium, and complex B vitamins though.....just to cover your bases...
Yes! You'll only get sick if you don't eat healthy - just like a meat-eater can become sick if they don't eat well. Fruits and veggies, whole grains, and legumes are the way to go (as opposed to cookies and pizza every day!)
Becoming a vegetarian means you need to each more vegetables/fruits breads etc to replace meats and other foods. You will not get sick or ill if you become a vegetarian.
YES!!!! SAVE THE ANIMALS!!!! WOOO GO TREE HUGERS! TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A BETTER PLANET EARTH!!! :D
