My 9-year-old son hasn't eaten any meat all day and I'm really worried about his health/safety now?!

Question: My 9-year-old son hasn't eaten any meat all day and I'm really worried about his health/safety now?
He hasn't eaten any meat since yesterday evening at dinner. I'm very worried that he will become deathly malnourished because of this. I just tried calling the doctor's office but they're closed. Should I call an ambulance?

Take hem to the doctor.

Breathe in, breathe out. Your son's fine. As long as he's eating other food and drinking water theirs nothing to worry about. Try asking your son why he's not eating meat. Is he sick, does he want to be vegetarian, figure out what's going on. I haven't eaten meat for a year and im just fine. some people haven't eating meat their whole life, and are fine. If he keeps acting weird, or stops eating go to the doctor.

First of all calm down. There is no reason to be worried. There are plenty of people out the who never eat meat. They are called vegetarians. There are plenty of other ways for your son to get protein such as
Eggs & Dairy
Lacto-ovo vegetarians--vegetarians who eat eggs and dairy products--may consume eggs, cheese, milk, yogurt and other dairy products as a source of protein.
Legumes
Legumes refer to plants that include a pod that splits into two valves with seeds attached to one edge of the values. Legumes are high in protein. Members of the legume family include peas, beans, lentils and peanuts.
Soy
Soy products are another source of protein for vegetarians. Soy products include tofu, tempeh, soy milk and processed soy items (i.e. veggie burgers, veggie dogs, etc).
Nuts & Seeds
Most nuts and seeds have a high protein content. Examples include almonds, walnuts, cashews, hempseed, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds and flaxseed.

Meat is NOT the only source of protein. Vegetarians (like myself) and vegans live years (or all of their life) of their life not eating meat, and, if ANY diet is done with a health-conscious mind, can be healthy.

He will be FINE, assuming he has eaten today. What about beans? veggies? milk? cheese? eggs? tofu? soy products? nuts (or of that general family)? fish/seafood? yogurt? etc. ALL these things (and more) contain protein. Meat is NOT the only option. He will be fine.

Again, not everyone gets every single serving recommended by healthcare professionals every day. Yet no one freaks out if someone isn't getting enough calcium, or vitamin c, or riboflavin every day.

Meat does not need to, and SHOULD NOT BE, the main focus of a meal.

Really? Because I don't eat meat either. In fact, I don't even drink milk, eat eggs, cheese, or anything that may have come from an animal at all!

Believe it or not, I also refrain from purchasing or using all products that are tested on animals, as well as wool, suede, leather, and fur!

Veg(etari)anism is a strange thing, isn't it?

i just made one. a breakfast toad toe.(no frogs necessary) anyways heat up the stove and put a pan on it. take some butter and spread it around the pan.grab some white bread or whole wheat or whatever you have. Then, take a cookie cutter and cut a hole right in the middle of the bread. put the outside of the shape in the pan and move it around for the buttery taste. crack an egg into the hole and cook it. flip it around, and once you're done, slap some ham on top! it tastes delicious!

Hello

Your question makes me think its all rubbish, a true mother would go to the doctor or hospital if a child was not eating and had signs of illness. But as for a child not eating meat only, pathetic. GROW UP

Something tells me you're full of crap. :) But I will provide you with some reassuring truth: Vegetarians live longer than meat eaters! Think about it. Peace.

I've survived for more than 20 months so far without meat,
your son will live.

Oh, and you're really bad at trolling.

are you serious?...you sound like my mom lol....one day without meat wont kill him. vegetarians do not eat meat at all and they are completely fine. as long as hes eating sum sort of food hes fine. relax. =)

Don't be silly. Feed him lentils, or beans. He doesn't need meat, nobody does..

Don't feed the trolls. Report and then be done with it.
