How can I be a healthy, skinny, veggetarian?!

Question: How can I be a healthy, skinny, veggetarian?
What kinds of food should I eat; any recipes you guys could share? :D
Any filling meals?
And what vitamines should I get?
I know red meat has most of the protein and such.
I just started to not eat meat two weeks ago.

omg i'm a terrible speller too; and a vegetarian :D.

Good for you for being veggie,

It honestly depends, theirs unhealthy vegetarians, healthy vegetarians, unhealthy meat eaters, healthy meat eaters. As for being thin, don't try to loose a bunch of weight; if you are overweight don't worry about it, you'll probably loose some weight when you eat alot of vegetarian whole grains, healthy legumes, fruits and veggies ect.

When i first became a vegetarian, i didn't really think about being healthy, so i ended up getting kinda sick and loosing a lot of weight accidently; it was a problem. But as soon as i started to be smart about being a vegetarian, i stayed a lot healthier, felt better.

Do you homework, and read up on how to get enough nutrients through non-meat food. Great beginning veg book: Laurel's Kitchen, The Accidental Vegan, and Moosewood.

multivitamin- (be sure to take one with calcium, iron, vitamin D, and it specifies its vegetarian, alot of vitamins have either fish oil or chicken byproducts. grose!! i buy mine at whole foods. http://www.remediesdirect.com/womens-mul…

non vegetarian foods are any meat or fish products. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegetariani…

meals with nuts, legumes, whole grains, fruits and veg, and heathy fats are filling and healthy.
.
Be sure to not count calories, if you want a guideline on how much to eat, look at the food pyramid below. Counting calories usually leads to eating disorders, self depravation, or bingeing. I can't tell you how many people went crazy from doing that.

Other words of wisdom: Watch out for animal ingredients in foods that you least expect it: anchovies in pizza sauce and dressing, cows stomach lining in cheese, crushed beetles in red food coloring, gelatin in marshmallows, fish oil in some medications ect.

Good luck being veggie, you will be just fine as long as you follow the food pyramid and listen to your body. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns!

vitamins and supplement pills can be good when becoming a vegetarian . my step mother has been a vegetarian for quite a few years now and i was one for about a month and a half.
you have to be careful , that you get enough protein and such . since you wont be eating meats, you need to eat more foods with those nutrients in them . for protein , you can have eggs, nuts, or even a protein shake. those can be really yummy depending on what kind you get.
as for filling and delicious meals, here are some that i found very enjoyable when i was a vegetarian::
-eggplant Parmesan. -youll most likely find this on the menu at your favorite itallian restauraunt right by chicken parmesean, its the same thing, only with eggplant instead of meat.
-grilled portebello mushrooms.-if your family is having steak for dinner, grill yourself up a big portabello mushroom right along with their steaks. put some steak seasoning on it and when its done it's so juicy and savory , and it tastes just like a steak!
as for easier meals, they sell frozen veggie burgers, and "fake chicken" patties. i know that doesnt sound too appetizing, but it tastes and looks and cooks just like a normal chicken patty , only without the meat. :D

good luck with being a vegetarian ,.
hope i helped!

personal experience

First, I want to admit I am not a vegetarian, or a vegan. However, on several occasions I invited 2 of my brothers, who happen to be vegans, on trips to the Caribbean. I don't like to cook, so I ate what my brothers ate (I washed dishes). Everything was delicious. Their secret: Spices, and years of experimenting. Basically, they used Indian, Pakistani, Thai, and other cooking recipes, and toned them down to American tastes (or not sometimes). It smelled good and tasted delicious. My recommendation for tasty food is to go to a large bookstore and look for vegetarian AND vegan cookbooks, and books with recipes from the above countries. My recommendation for how to eat healthy as a vegetarian is similar. There are many books about how to balance your meals proteinwise, vitaminwise, amino acidwise, and so on. My brothers aren't the most muscular, but are the healthiest people I know.

Hello

Minimise your dairy e.g cheese, cream, butter and also sugar things e.g soda, cakes, biscuits, sweets. Eat lots of fresh organic fruits, vegetables, herbs, some nuts, grains, cereals etc

Lots of Love

Eat no meats, get Calcium and protein vitamins.Check all labels.

Soy is bad. Eat mostly nuts and REAL beans. Fish is good also, unless you're becoming a veg solely for the fact that you don't like the natural order of things on our planet, and won't eat animals.

yes just take vitamins.
