Is this vegan? (20 characters)?!

Question: Is this vegan? (20 characters)?
The package says it's vegan, but on the back of the container it says, “Manufactured in a facility that uses peanut, dairy, and egg ingredients.” Is it still vegan?

Yes, they have to put that in for allergy sufferers who might have a reaction to food which has even been near those items.
It's not actually an ingredient of the food so it's still vegan.

Yes. The statement used is simply basically a legal warning for those who have severe allergies or some aversion to those ingredients. Sadly because veganism is not as wide spread as it should be some companies have to share factories and equipment with animal ingredients. Obviously they should be scrubbing down the equipment but you cannot get everything off and if they didn't warn somebody they could get sued.

Since you are not directly supporting the use, abuse or exploitation of animals by buying a product manufactured around something but not directly or purposefully containing animals, there is nothing non-vegan about it.

Looking at the definition of veganism (the one true one written by the guy who came up with the term) one will find nothing really non-vegan about that product.
"The word 'veganism' denotes a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude — as far as is possible and practical — all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, including humans and the environment.

Now obviously by buying those products in some way you are helping keep that factory open with the ability to process more dairy/eggs but 1. trying to find strict facilities is very hard and basically impractical 2. by supporting the vegan item you are sending a message for veganism. However it is important to note that I am not trying to strike what I said earlier but just go much deeper into the subject.

vegan because animals are not property

As others have said,

It's a back-covering thing. Some people are violently allergic to these ingredients. The manufacturer is basically saying "these ingredients aren't in our product, however they are processed elsewhere in our factory, so please don't sue us in the unlikely event that a grain of peanut dust drifts between production lines."

Yes. It does not contain non-vegan ingredients. The warning is more for people who have deathly allergies to those things. The chance that any of those ingredients are in the product are slim to none. It is a legal thing.

Yes, I'd say so :) The product itself is vegan, all that warning means is that it MAY be contaminated with animal products. Those warnings are more for people who suffer from allergies :)

?

yes

I see your dilema here. But as the old saying goes, "If in doubt do nowt"
Meaning if you can't decide whether you should go ahead with buying this product or not, the best thing to do is not buy it, so you don't risk regretting it.

The lord Jesus Christ.

not if its contaminated by egg or dairy

No. The eggs particles could travel in the air
