Why do some vegetarians eat fish?!

Question: Why do some vegetarians eat fish?
They're put through just as much pain and suffering... if not MORE pain and suffering than other animals and you're still eating a creature that used to be alive

Answers:

Hi, it's pescatarians who eat fish. Vegetarians don't eat any animals.

And I'm not sure why they draw a distinction. I can only imagine that they feel less of a connection with fish since they don't look as traditionally "cute." It's very illogical though, since like you say they still suffer exactly the same.

I know tons of 'vegetarians' who eat fish regularly. Than they tell me im such an uptight vegetarian! I exclude, animals including fish, along with all animal by products! and i try to avoid honey when possible. It's always puzzled me when people ARGUE with me about fish not being an animal. My answer to this of course is that it was alive, it ate, and it blinked(not fish, but ya know :P) and so therefore i don't eat it! People just aren't willing to accept that yet i suppose. And of course they confuse me with other people and make all the real vegetarians look like hypocrites! I don't understand it either.

With all due respect to pescatarians out there...

A "vegetarian who eats fish" is synonymous with "liar" or "poser". "Wannabe" is also acceptable.

Part of being a vegetarian is omitting all animal flesh. Fish were once living before being slaughtered and shoved down the gullets of meat-eaters and "pescatarians". Therefore fish is meat.

Pescetarians are a type of omnivore that eats fish but excludes all land animals from their diet.

Vegetarians don't eat fish.

People confuse the names, though, because they both end in "tarian."

Everybody makes personal judgments about what they choose to do, I would not be too quick to point and say Hypocrite ... think about YOUR personal values and what you do to keep them.

They don't.

Vegetarians do not eat fish.

Those who eat fish and call themselves vegetarians are morons.

Because they are not vegetarians.

vegan :D
