Do vegetarians still eat 3 meals a day if the meals they have are more filling?!

Question: Do vegetarians still eat 3 meals a day if the meals they have are more filling?
I just wondered about this, because since I became a vegetarian and started eating more vegetables for my meals, I don't feel as hungry when the regimented meals come around. Not dinner anyway. I still have breakfast and lunch, but they're kind of light meals, and most of the time I don't feel hunger pangs-I just eat because it's socially required. Most people think eating 3 meals and 2 snacks a day is ideal, but is it normal not to feel hungry when dinner comes?

Answers:

I'm a vegetarian and I don't get as hungry, I don't eat as much as my other friends and they all think i'm weird, I kind of got used to it now. I don't eat anything in between meals and when I first became vegetarian sometimes I wouldn't have lunch, I just forgot because i wasn't hungry. Now I've gotten used to it and it's really important to eat three meals a day to get the nutrition you need or you could get sick. Maybe if you're not hungry at all and really don't feel like eating, have a smaller meal but with good nutrition and maybe a little later. I find that humus is really nice on cruskits with a bit of lettuce and tomato and remember to get all your daily needs. Hope this helps, good luck :)

Many vegetables contain a lot of cellulose. Humans have trouble digesting cellulose. It passes through your system as fiber. So you don't necessarily feel hungry by next mealtime. But vegetables are generally low in calories and you need at least 1200 calories to just maintain your body as is. If you're growing, or expending a lot of energy, you need a lot more. It can be difficult....
