Will it harm me if i drink nothing but meal replacement shakes for 2 weeks?!

Question: Will it harm me if i drink nothing but meal replacement shakes for 2 weeks?
I am a young teen girl. My doctor says I am not overweight, but I was recently told I was "chubby" from a friend. I've been really wanting to lose weight since i was 14. If all I put into my body is 3 meal replacement shakes a day, what are the effects/harms? Will i dramatically lose weight? Will it slow my metabolism down? Is it bad for me? please no ruid answers. Thankyou.

I would suggest eating a well balanced diet with a wide variety of healthy foods while watching your calorie intake and also exercising.

Your metabolism might slow down a little but the long term effects of doing meal replacement shakes for 2 weeks wouldn't be bad. Most of them have added vitamins and minerals your body needs. You would be better off doing at least 4 shakes at day. If you look at Slim Fast's web site they have some good recommendations.

You should consume at least 1200 calories a day to make sure your body gets all the nutrients it needs.

"My doctor says I am not overweight"

Listen to your doctor. He is smarter than your friend, and more concerned about your health than your dress size. Unless you can't fit through your doorway, thirteen is way too young to be having body image issues. I'm sure you have a beautiful body. Please don't ruin it this way.

You know you're not overweight. If you are feeling flabby, you need to tone-up. Starving yourself is NOT the way to go. You need to get exercise. Try lifting 5 pound weights or using a thigh master.
