if someone eats egg rarely does that mean their still a vegan?!

Question: If someone eats egg rarely does that mean their still a vegan?
or cheese

Answers:

Yes.
The real vegan principle is that you MINIMIZE as much as possible (not totally eliminate) your personal contribution to animal suffering and exploitation, not blindly follow some made up "can/cannot eat rules" that do not even exist. The "no animals whatsoever" idea that some fanatics insist on is "vegasnism" according to groups like PETA who are so full of themselves and just egotistical enough to speak for all vegans as if someone has given them the authority to do so.

Isn't it ironic that many fanatics claim they are "enlightened" and not merely followers of the majority yet insist on live according to some made up rules that they cannot even point to and as to who made them and under whose authority that they MUST be followed?

watch it. Someone with her multiple accounts is on the question. The TU for herself and TD for everyone else that does not agree with her "rules" is eminent.

No, that would not be counted as vegan. However, this can depend on why you are a vegan :) If it's for animal rights reasons, then you could eat cheese and eggs if they came from animals who you know to live happy, healthy lives, and if you knew that they wouldn't be slaughtered once they could not longer produce these things.

eg. if someone you knew owned cows/goats/chickens, and treated them very well, and who would not slaughter them once they could not longer harvest products from them, you may choose to eat products from these animals and still be considered vegan.

Actually, Rabbit, it doesn't matter if you know the animal. Eating any animal product is NOT vegan. So eating any eggs (or other animal product) knowingly, no matter how rare it happens, is not vegan.

It's a very black and white subject. If you eat animal products on purpose, you're definitely not vegan.

Vegan, (who doesn't eat eggs or cheese rarely)

People who are vegan for ethical reasons will take utmost care to not consume any animal products. There is no such thing as humane meat, humane eggs or humane milk.

Nope. They are awesome and making a positive impact, but they are ovo-lacto vegetarians rather than vegan.

No. If you intentionally eat something that came from an animal, you are not a vegan.

vegan :D

No. Eggs and Cheese come from animals, which Veganism does not condone.

your not vegan if you do that... vegans dont eat that

I consider myself a vegan and once in a blue moon I will have one of the eggs that come from my sisters farm, I know there was no preservatives or hormones or antibiotics given to them and that they are free range, so it doesn't bother me too much. There's 'casual' vegetarians out there who are vegetarians 90% of the time but once in a blue moon eat meat. So I think it's only natural for there to be 'casual' vegans that might slip up on a piece of cheese or egg once in a blue moon. As long as you are doing the best that you can and 99% of the time you are vegan, then I think you are still vegan. If I ever get a craving for an egg I try to remind myself that you are consuming a chicken's period.... and that usually helps me put the egg away. I also am not going to starve myself at a restaurant because the only choice in salad dressing is Ranch or Italian dressing made with eggs... But kudos to those vegans who can eat salad without dressing!

Of course. You just say you "slipped." Anyone can claim to be a vegan.
