Hi, it is generally the larger fish which have high levels of mercury.
For this reason things like sardines, clams, squid, anchovies, crab, trout, mackerel, herring, plaice and oysters are all lower in mercury.

All fish have trace amounts of mercury. That's not a problem for most healthy people eating a varied diet. If you're pregnant or only eating fish, you are smart to be careful.
This website tells you which fish are more likely to have larger amounts of mercury: http://longevity.about.com/od/lifelongnu…
Remember, too there's a lot of "farmed" fish available these days.

Hello Em
Well I think mercury and chemicals are pretty much in every sea animal unfortunately, because of what man has done with dumping things in the ocean etc.
Being a pescetarian doesn't mean you need to eat fish everyday. Fish and seafood should always be eaten sparingly.
Mercury is in all fish. Watch Earthlings and you will understand what I mean. It's Pretty disgusting.
