Question: Are there still cattle rustlers?

Do people still steal rancher's cattle, and do they really get away with it? Is it a severe penalty if you get caught?

Answers:

Yes! I have a friend on a huge Oregon cattle ranch. She has told me a few times about the cattle rustlers they have problems with there. Her ranch is so large it is impossible to patrol the whole thing constantly.

They take it seriously and the penalties are severe (although I think they have stopped hanging rustlers, much as they might like to.)
