It is best for you to buy real vegetables, grains and beans, rather than looking for packaged food that is labeled as being for vegans. This is really just a marketing scam to get you to buy processed stuff that is not good for you. Buy veggies, fruits, potatoes, tortillas, bread, rice, garbanzos, lentils, beans, nuts, granola, plantains, healthy oils, flour for making your own bread (I buy indian atta flour to make parathas) almonds, cashews, pistachios, coconuts. Keep a lot of spices on hand to add flavor to your vegetarian food. Garbanzo flour is ggreat for vegans. There are a lot of things you can make. One processed food I do like is the ALmond Breeze - tastes better than soymilk.

it's good to always have organic foods on hand, but my weekly grocery list is somewhat like this:

fresh fruits and veggies (organic)
soy milk (regular and chocolate)
soy yogurt
food for life ezekiel bread products
mock meats
nuts, beans, legumes
etc, etc.

but just get the foods that look good to you, have fun with it.

vegan.

Please add vitamin B-12 to your diet and pass it on to your fellow vegans.

I watched Dr. Andrew Weil on PBS, and while he attests to the "good" things about not consuming meat, he claims that vegans lack vitamin B-12 as no vegan diet will have anything to get you that.
