VEGGIE BURGER DILEMMA?!

Question: VEGGIE BURGER DILEMMA?
I have a craving for a burger tonight, but I'm on Weight Watchers and have a mini goal to lose as much as weight as possible (safely) for my friend's birthday this weekend. I'm not really fat, but I bought a really hot tight dress for the occasion, if you catch my drift :)

Anyway, I'm thinking about buying veggie burgers for the first time in my life (I love red meat.)

Any suggestions? I'm worried about spending the money on a box of them and then not like it. Should I just fill a bun with my favorite condiments instead?

You should try the morning star veggie patties. From my knowledge you are extremely delicious and one of the healthiest burger patties in the market. :)

I'm a vegetarian :)

Gardenburger California Burgers are good. Add an avocado slice and a tomato and lettuce.
You can make a portabello mushroom (on a grill or simply put it in a pan with a little Pam), similar in texture to beef, and put it on one piece of bread instead of two with lettuce and tomato.
You can actually go to Wendy's or McDonalds for a single, take one half the bun off and no mayo (ketchup or mustard is ok). Add lettuce and tomato and any other veggie (such as cucumber) and it doesn't add too extra many calories. If you really need your red meat fix.
Or, you could make your own veggie burgers - lots of recipes and pretty simple to make. Just use Google for recipes. I prefer the recipes heavier on veggies and tofu instead of beans or rice as the main ingredient.

I prefer quorn burgers. On their own they are fairly tasteless, so nothing to not like, but they have a good texture. Add loads of salad to your burger to make it more interesting. I also shake on plenty of Aromat on the burgers before I cook them. You can either put the salad in the bun with the burger, or I usually have it without the bun - use some spray-on-oil to cook up some thinly sliced onion, serve that up on a plate with the burger and a big salad - really filling and not at all fattening.

Remember condiments are usually VERY fattening.

One way to find out (-:

There's different types of veggieburgers; you can get them 'meat-like' which I'm guessing is what you're looking for here (there's also vegetable burgers which are diced veg, sweetcorn etc, and beanbugers which are, well, beany).

A veggie burger will be (typically) lower in fat than its meat equivalent. Grill it rather than fry to keep the fat content down.

A bun with loads of condiments is probably more unhealthy than the burger... that stuff's usually loaded with sugar and salt.

First of all, I hope you're not planning to lose more than two pounds this week, because that would be unsafe.

Second, I don't like pre-made veggie burgers much. I either grill a portobello cap, or I make a black bean burger. Here's a site with a ton more recipes. http://veggieburgermadness.wordpress.com…

Boca brand are one of the best selling burgers that are more "meat" like. That is probably more what you are thinking of.

Amy's brand are really good if you want a grain/vegetable patty.

Oh wow i love it, thats all i can say about VB :)
