Think it over and see if it fits your lifestyle.
You "should" for many different reasons. However, you're not going to stay a vegetarian it if you're only doing it because you "should". You also have to want to do it.
I suggest reading a variety of books and watching videos on the meat industry and how it impacts on the environment. You're not going to agree with everything and your opinions on what's right and wrong will change over time but be informed.
'Learn how to make tasty vegetarian meals so that you enjoy your food. Vegetarians don't live on tomatoes and lettuce leaves.
At the very least, the above should make you more conscious of where you get your meat from and will probably cause you to cut way back on your consumption. Even if you're not going to cut out meat completely, it makes a big difference if you don't eat it every day.
Why do you 'feel bad' about eating animals? Their dead and gone anyways, I've watched some documentries on farm animals and how Americans get their beef.. It made me feel sick to my stomach knowing cows and chicken are treated so poorly. I thought about becoming a vegetarian, but a lot of your needed protein and other various vitamins are mostly attained through eating meat. Sure you can find other alternatives, got the money for it though? By becoming a vegetarian, you aren't really hurting the industry, makes no difference to them at all. No point in it really as a individual. You could always get your protein from... Bugs. Though for me, I rather die than integrate bugs into my diet.
Well if you are thinking about it you should definitely try it.
Do you like foods like
-chickpeas
-tofu
-lentils
-black beans
-nuts
-nut butters
Do you eat a lot of fruits and vegetables?
You can't just eat fake meats because it is very unhealthy. I think you should try it if you are thinking about it. Maybe once you see how much better you feel when you are not eating meat, you will stick with it! Make sure you do research so you know what you need to be eating to maintain a healthy diet.
Get a vegetarian cook book! You might find some great recipes.
It is your persoanl choice. I agree with the post that says you should do research. That is a question only you can anser.
And to the person who said they eat meat because they don't want to get their protein from bugs and they'd rather die than eat bugs- do you eat jelly beans? Shiny candies? Anything with confectioner's glaze is made from bugs - bugs are shiny and they are ground up to add shine to some foods. It is also known colloquially in the manufacturing world as beetle juice due to shellac's derivation from the lac insect Kerria lacca (which is not a beetle, but a scale insect).
What you eat is a personal decision - no one can make that decision for you. You could try quorn instead of meat but if you don't think that replaces meat and you don't feel you can go without it then you could just stop eating anything that's not free range or freedom food where the animals are treated well? Personally I can't eat meat because I don't think that it's right that an animal should die for my meal, but being a vegetarian is quite restrictive when eating out or at a friends house etc. Good luck making your decision xx
Eat meat only on Wednesdays if you want; vegetarianism is not a religion. It is your choice how you eat and you do not need a name for it. If you feel bad about how the animals are treated, there are ethical farms that treat the animals well, you just need to do a bit of searching/asking where you live.
eating meat or fish or chicken is completely normal, dont let any one tell you its wrong. I understand u may feel bad for the animals. being a veggy has its positive sides, but think of a life without warm juicy steak, or fried chicken, or smoked salmon??
Why do you want us to tell you if you should be a veg or not? Is is because you are a follower and want to follow the crowd or is it because you are a rebel and want to go against the majority? How about you be original and decide for yourself?
i am a vegetarian. I got no problem with variety or taste.
dont have any need for meat.
there are lots of various dishes you can make with veggies.
cant stand the thought of killing an animal for my food.
tbh your not going to make a difference , if you dont eat the meat then someone else will. if you enjoy meat carry on eating meat
you could try it. you could always turn back if you don't like it.
