Would you give a gift basket that had MEAT in it for X-mas?!

Question: Would you give a gift basket that had MEAT in it for X-mas?
Vegetarians; would you consider giving a gift basket with meat in it to a meat-eater for Christmas?

If they really wanted this set?

Answers:

I would try to compromise by buying him/her a similar set with meat that did not come from factory farming, and was local and organic. But if I couldn't find a substitute, and this was the ONLY gift that he or she wanted, I'd buy it.

I feel uneasy about buying those products for someone else, but I would if i had to.

I am vegetarian, and my boyfriend is not, so I run into this dilemma often.

No. With so many wonderful options for gifts, why would I go against what I stand for and buy meat. Besides, my friends and family respect my food choices and would never ask me to buy them meat. They might ask me to make a vegan dessert, though! There are many other choices for gifts a person would want than a gift basket with meat. This is not a concern.

To the person who said pornography is wrong in EVERYbody's world - if that were true then why is the industry so large and getting worse with internet? No, it's not wrong to everyone so the person who compared buying meat going against thier morals as buy porn would be was right.

And to the person who said they'd buy meat out of respet to the gift receiver's food choices, they show no respect to a vegetarian if asking for meat. They have others in their life they could request meat from. True respect would mean they don't ask you for something that goes against your values and morals.

Probably not... but I have contributed to fund-drives to buy Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner for homeless families, and I know some of the $ is used to buy turkeys. So, basically, IF it was a matter of extreme need, I might participate in the effort -- and hope that my contribution went toward the potatoes and green-bean casserole.

No I wont. It is not that I wouldn't want them to eat it, I just beleive that by buying a set with meat in it I would be the one helping that meat company out. I just can't do it and feel at peace. I do not mind what others eat, it's just some thing I could not bring myself to do.

Are you against the consumption of meat? If you are against others eating meat then don't, but if your being a vegetarian is just a personal preference then go for it. As a "meat-eater" I would love to recieve a meat basket for Christmas!

Are you asking if we would or if you should? I might, depending on where the meat came from and how very badly they wanted it. Christmas is a big deal to me and I like to get people the perfect gift. If you don't feel comfortable buying one, don't.

NO!! because my belief is that the animal has a right to live and what right do I have to take that life!! and buying and it would just promote the opposite. But if your a vegetarian because its a healthier life style, then I guess you would think its fine.

my life

Yes, if that is the gift they really wanted; although, if I knew them well enough I would consider a more creative gift idea.

yes because you shold respect peoples choice to eat meat or not as it is up to them no matter if you give them it or not there still gonna eat meat so you may aswell

veggie since i was 5

No, that would be like being against pornography & giving someone an XXX DVD b/c they really wanted it. It goes against core beliefs

no, i would feel weird buying meat and supporting the meat industry. i would get them something else.

Nope, there are many varieties of baskets. Cheeses, coffee, teas, wines. They can settle ;)

No. I'm pretty sure that a gift basket with meat could not be their sole desire in this world. I'd get them something else.

I personally wouldn't. I try not to spend any money towards products that harm animals.

Vegan

I don't think anyone would want a meat basket for christmas.

Hello

Being totally honest, I am not sure.

No i wouldnt.

It's not like being against pornography because that is wrong in EVERY body's world.
It is like respecting someones' preference....survival of the fittest.
