I'm a vegan but I'd be very attracted to a vegan man if I wasn't married ;-)
I'm an omnivore who is currently interested in dating a vegan guy. I have no problem at all with his dietary choices and actually admire his veganism because it shows that he's conscientious and possesses self-restraint. I'd be very willing to make concessions such as eating at vegan restaurants, however I don't know that I'd be willing to become a vegan or even a vegetarian myself. I imagine it would only become a problem if he became preachy or started to impose his lifestyle on me rather than allowing me to make my own decisions. Fortunately, he doesn't try to convert me and I don't try to convert him. At the end of the day, it's all about mutual respect and understanding.
Truth be told I probably would be turned off a bit only because I've been preached at too many times. The thought of dating someone who is vegan to me immediately brings up the idea that I might spend a lot of time being preached at or someone trying to convert me. I appreciate the fact that that isn't the case with most vegans, but such has been my experience and so I have a knee-jerk reaction, in a way.
Having said that, my husband is mostly vegetarian so the whole "not eating meat" thing itself isn't a turnoff, I guess it would just be my instinctive reaction. It also depends on the guy though, if he was obviously not a preachy person then I'd get over it really quick. If he tried to engage me into discussions about it, then I'd probably be hesitant.
And I agree... no man should spend all of his time being sensitive ;)
LOVE IT! Even before I was vegan...I admire veggies for their commitment to stand up for what they believe is right. I am 2X attracted to my fiance when he shows concern for and compassion for others whether fellow humans or non humans.
An attractive guy is an attractive guy, whatever his dietary choices. I would have no problem dating a vegan even if I still ate meat myself.
I couldn't care less about his eating habits. He doesn't want to eat meat, more for me!
It's actually irrelevant unless he spends all of his time being "sensitive". Then he's just a p&ssy.
Someone that's vegan says a lot of things.
