Should I become a vegetarian?!

Question: Should I become a vegetarian?
A lot of the time when I'm eating meat It kinda grosses me out and I think of how much healthier/happier I would be if I didn't eat meat. Would you consider that a good reason? Because I know other people who have other reasons why they're vegetarians (mostly cause they don't agree with the killing of animals) but that isn't really an issue for me...

I don't see how it could not be an issue for any normal, compassionate human being who is aware of the graphic reality behind slaughter whether it be "humanely" done or sadistically done... b/c any way you slice it, it's still wrong IMO. The health benefits isn't really an issue for me...
Either way congrats on a compassionate diet, even if you're just doing it for health reasons.

Vegan

Nobody can turn you into a vegetarian.

It is your choice.

With that being said, there are many imitation meat products that are vegetarian.

Boca, Mornignstar Farms, Lightlife, Amy's Kitchen, Tofurky, Annie's Homegrown, Quorn, Yves, and Tofutti are brands of vegetarian products that can be found at Stop & Shop, Pathmark, Shop Rite, and Whole Food/Health Food stores.

Burgerking has a BK Veggie burger.
Subway has a veggie patty sub.

Try out some of these products, and see if you like them.

Vegetarian

I just recently became a vegetarian, but it started because I just dont like meat, at all. And then I looked up more on being veg, and found about all this horrible stuff people do to animals just so we can eat them, so no thank you. Thats my motivation now, at least. Mostly its each persons personal choice, but if youve already somewhat given up on most meat, why not go all the way ? :)

It's a personal choice. If you do decide to become a vegetarian, for whatever reason, just ensure that you're still getting all of the vitamins and minerals that your body requires. I personally am not vegetarian, but it can be a healthy diet when properly evaluated regarding nutrition.

If you don't like it, don't eat it. But be sure that you don't try to replace the nutrient rich meat with a salad. It won't work. You'll need to pay a lot more attention to your diet. Iron, calcium and protein are three important nutrients that veg*ns need to be concerned with in their diets.

theres so many reasons to go veggie. i am, partly because i don't like killing animals, partly because i don't really like the taste of meat much, and partly, liek you say, because it kinda grosses me out...

there isn't a 'wrong' or 'right' reason to stop eating meat. do whatever would be happier for you. that's what i did and i LOVE my food now!

Go veg for whatever reason! it doesnt really matter. and ignore what people say, its your decision!
its gonna do the planet good
the animals good
and i promise you, its gonna do YOU good!

ive been veg for just 2 months, and im loving it.

If you're happier and healthier as a vegetarian, then yes, that's a great reason to stop eating meat. Do what you believe is best for you. You don't need to explain or justify it to anyone else.

i'm similar, i don't agree with killing animals but i'd eat meat if i liked it.
i've always been a veggie and cannot stand the thought of crunching on meat.

i'd love to call you a fellow veggie! :] join the veggies!!

That's how I started , I realized how disgusting meat is ! Don't contribute to the pain and suffering these animals go through just so you can have a bloody, fleshy, bacteria filled meal on your plate..

?

There is no "right" reason to become a vegetarian. Do whatever you feel is right.

There are no reasons that would not be good enough to live in a way that would make you feel better. So go for it! Just make sure you research what makes a balanced vegetarian diet. Good luck!

Dairy and eggs are equally horrendous. Stop animal exploitation. Go Vegan.

Yes you should.

you should do whatever makes you happy

Yes!

Must ... Vegetable is the best food to me

As to your health, it honestly doesn't matter. I know plenty of athletes who live on junk food. If you exercise enough you can eat anything you want (well... within reason). I eat meat roughly once every two weeks, because i'm very picky when it comes to meat. I still say it is worth it to keep eating. I went vegan once (I was hiking and I despise meat from a bag that's been dries) and I felt terribly under-energized and weak. Don't leave the meat.

No , you will get real sick and stuff.
