Does anyone have any vegetarian advice?!

Question: Does anyone have any vegetarian advice?
I am ready and willing to completely change to a vegetarian. :) if anybody knows of the best brands to buy, highest nutrient dense vegetables and even a dish recommendation that would be lovely. I heard there's a lot of crappy vegetarian stuff out on the market so any tips would be great! Thank you so much for your time :)

I really woudn't eat it'

---Delicious Brands---
Quorn
Gardenburger
MorningStar
Gardein
Match <--- Expensive

---OK Brands---
LightLife

---High Nutrient Veggies---
Honestly, pretty much any veggie is a good veggie. But dark leafy greens are always recommened. Kale, spinach, etc. If you're looking for calcium, dried dates are a delicious option. Try hard to get a wide variety of different colors of fruits and veggies in your diet (sounds silly but the colors are different nutrients, etc).

---Warning!!!---
* Watch out for gelatin! It's in so much.
* Soups, noodles, gravies, etc are often made with chicken/beef broth. Always ask
* Pinto beans at restaurants, including Chipotle, have pork in the beans. Mexican restaurants often have pork in their beans too.
* Should you someday decide to go vegan, Italian restaurants make ALL their pasta with eggs. ALL of it.
* ALWAYS read the ingredient labels. And read them again. Check for sneaky ingredients like rennet, lard, etc that have "cover" names.

---General Advice---
* READ! Read books, articles, websites, magazine, etc about vegetarianism. Staying informed is the best way to keep on track and be aware.

Good Luck!

I'm veggie, have been 17 almost 18 years now. (whole life). I find that the Quorn branded products are really tasty, there's a wide variety and it goes with almost everything, unlike tofu which I hate.

:) as for recipes check out the vegetarian section on instructables.com :)
