Yogurt cultures will solidify much of the protein, sugar etc in milk, but those cultures do not need or use all the "water" content of the milk. When you make cheese, one of the early steps results in curd and whey. This is similar. The yogurt solids are like the curd and the liquid is the whey. It's a natural process. Nothing to worry about.

Bon Appetit!

If you recall the childhood ditty, she was eating her curds and whey. Somewhat like milk with cream, the solid curd of the yogurt will seperate from the watery whey. Any processed dairy product will go though this. Some milk proteins clump and form the solid: cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt etc. But some proteins don't and that's the whey, which is usually pressed and discarded. You can mix it back in but if you're lactose sensitive drain it off for it has higher levels than the curd.

It isn't water, it is whey. the weight of the yogurt is pressing out the whey. You can stir it into the yogurt or you can pour it down the sink or you can save it in a clean jar to make scones or biscuits or muffins.... soon!

thats the whey that seperates

Have you ever thrown up milk? Do you notice the water separates from the curds and whey? It's the same idea with yogurt. The water separates at the beginning since it isn't mixed in properly yet.

Byproduct of cheese production; it is one of the components which separates from milk after curdling. It is high in protein and often used as a food additive. Don't worry, it is good stuff, just stir it in.

just seperates, natural yoghurt does this more than ones with gelatin in it.
Just mix all up, it's perfectly normal and healthy.

Yogurt is basically milk and enzymes. Milk can separate when it's in a stage like this. Just mix it up. It's nothing bad.

it's the whey separating, it was always there, just mix it in or pour it out or drink it.

just pure the water out and eat the damn yogurt
