That's pretty unlikely. Unless you bought fertilized eggs, your hen laid eggs never have access to a rooster.

Raise chickens.

That was very strange - did you buy the eggs at a supermarket or did you get it directly from a farmer's market?

The eggs that are sold for human consumption are usually not fertilized....the chickens are kept away from the roosters and their eggs are not fertilized so no baby chicks will be in them - those are the eggs that are sent to the supermarkets.

Eggs in farmer's markets are usually free range chickens - they are allowed to walk around the farm yard - not caged up like the other ones. Maybe a rooster can get at those chickens and there is a possibility of those eggs being fertilized when they are sold.

I have bought many farm fresh eggs, but have not had a chick in them yet.

It happens if the egg is old or left out side the refrigerator, that's why people crack the egg in a bowl before you cook it. Now it's up to you whether you want eat eggs or not. My questions to you is "do you eat chicken?"

I'm never going to eat eggs again either, but are you sure that's what you saw? Sometimes eggs have blood in them from the chicken that laid them.

No this has never happened to me, but if I were you I would have taken a picture of it and sold the rights to PETA, you probably would have made a few bucks.

You think that's gross? Ask a filipino about "balut". Now that is really gross.

What you just said is not even a question. And no that never happened to me. I only buy unfertilized eggs.

This actualy has happened a few years ago. But it was farm eggs so it is possible

That happened to me last week and I'm still grossed out, I haven't had an egg ever since =/

Did you try to eat it right before it was about to hatch?
