If a shampoo/conditioner is organic and made with all organic ingredients, is that the same as vegan?!

Question: If a shampoo/conditioner is organic and made with all organic ingredients, is that the same as vegan?
In terms of no animal derivatives and not tested on animals?

If it doesn't contain any animals or have products that came from animals in any stage and was not tested on animals and contains natural ingredients and the companies main source of income is not from the sale of animal products, then yes. Always check the labels though and look for the Leaping Bunny logo and if you see a label that says cruelty free or animal free or something like that ask them why they don't have the Leaping Bunny logo (some might not know about it and some might use animal ingredients at some point in the product or test on animals at some point or not qualify for other reasons)

I prefer to use Dr. Bronner's soap as shampoo and then their shikakai conditioning rinse it leaves hair smooth and shiny and very clean. However I do also on occasion use Desert Essence hair care products (they are looking into getting the LB logo) and they work nice and smell nice.

vegan because animals are not property

Not necessarily. A lot of organic stuff has beeswax or honey and some has milk or eggs. However it will be much much easier to tell from reading the simple ingredients whether an organic item is vegan or not, because it won't have a bunch of chemicals that you need to look up on the internet. It won't have slaughter by-products like gelatin either.

No, all organic means is that it was made without chemical pesticides/fertilizers or GMOs. It has nothing to do with being cruelty free. Organic products can be vegan, and vice versa, but they do not have to be. If you're looking for a good vegan shampoo, I use Giovanni (they're organic, too.)

if it is vegan it should say so or have that little hopping bunny picture on it. or look for a symbol that is a heart with a v in the middle, that's the certified vegan symbol

Not necessarily, as it could use ingredients from organically raised animals, such as organic milk or eggs.
