Do vegetarians really live longer and are more healthy?!
Answers:
heck no, there are proteins in meat that we need to survive... but you can eat alternatives such as tofu instead so you can get the proteins, still it doesn't matter, if you eat meat and veggies and exercise you can still be healthy and live long, my friend is a vegetarian, and she doesn't have a lot of strength and stuff, shes like 110 pounds, i am bigger than her by like 25 to 30 pounds, but when it comes down to who has more strength and gets tired quicker in gym class, its her, so shes the vegetarian, im a meat eater, but im healthier than her obviously, it doesn't matter, it just depends how you take care of yourself. Like even though i eat meat, i try to stay healthy by eating fruits and veggies and exercising.
No. Being a vegetarian isn't magic. There are fat vegetarians and fat omnis. There are healthy vegetarians and a lot more healthy omnis. Most vegetarians in the US eat eggs and dairy products. So their died includes animal products and, thus, vitamin B12, calcium, and complete protein. I think any advantage to the vegetarian diet is that a vegetarian is usually/often obsessed with their diet and pays more attention to it. The rest of us just enjoy our meals and have other things to do than obsess over food.
ADDED: BTW, B12 is ONLY available in animal foods. Who says so? VegeanHealth, the Vegan Society.
From VeganHealth: "B12 is generally found in all animal foods (except honey). Contrary to rumors, there are no reliable, unfortified plant sources of vitamin B12, including tempeh, seaweeds, and organic produce. The overwhelming consensus in the mainstream nutrition community, as well as among vegan health professionals, is that plant foods do not provide vitamin B12, and fortified foods or supplements are necessary for the optimal health of vegans, and even vegetarians in many cases...."

It certainly depends on the foods you choose whether you eat meat or not. After all, potato chips and doughnuts are vegetarian. However:
Skywolf-there are lifelong vegetarians in their 80s and 90s in perfect health
Mike-I hope you haven't spent a great deal on your education so far because it's woefully inadequate. Protein is protein-as long as your body has the amino acids to work with it will build proteins. Whether plant or animal flesh is the source is irrelevant
Bill G-likewise, there have been lifelong vegetarians for thousands of years and statistics show that if they eat a balanced diet they will be healthy
Bloody-do 30 seconds of research and you will easily see that meat supplies 3 main nutrients, all available from non meat sources
I have no problem with omnivores and I despise anyone who doesn't make an effort to eat healthily, but I get really tired of this paradigm that meat contains some essential nutrient(s) that can't be obtained any other way except supplements.
only stats and time ( years ) will determine that --- bit like weather forecasters who can't correctly predict the local weather for next week --- but can share with you global warming ( and all the doom that goes with it ) will gladly predict whats going to happen 100 years from now --- !!!! --- hmm! --- good luck

No, there's been NOTHING proven that is the case. It's all about GENETICS. Relatives of mine lived to be 96 years old, ate meat from time to time. Today, there's tons of garbage in food, meat gets a bad rep.
They do if they meet all the nutrients their body requires. Vegetarians who have a proper diet usually have strong metabolisms when they age compared to meat-eaters.
Vegetarians generally have to be more conscious of what they eat to get all necessary nutrients but ultimately yes.
most likely , but it depends b/c my aunt was a vegetarian but ate alot of sweets & became diabetic .
Yes they do.
no, most of them get killed early by rogue cow stampedes
yes
this is not true at all.
the entire point of advertising is to twist facts to suit your needs, and if your a scientist being paied to find out how much longer vegetarians live, only to find the same lifespan, your in a bit of trouble.
vegetarians are actually sick most of the time because they are missing many ammino acids that you get from eating meat. yes, they dont have a problem with high chelestoral (idk how to spell it) nor are they fat but thats realy the only good part. you have to eat (in my opinion) food that is nasty, you always look pale and sickly, and like i said, they are actually sick quite often.
as for living longer, i think that the only facts that COULD contribute to that would be the heart risks being diminished as well as the fact that many who choose to be vegetarians are not base jumping, sky diving, shark diving people. of corse their average life span is gonna be slightly longer due to accidents.
according to them yes, but I bet there are no real statistics out there.
Since many vegetarians did not start out as vegetarians but made that change somewhere in their adult life, I would think that fact could skew any research done and that would involve following a large group of vegetarians who were fed that way from birth all the way through to death to get any real numbers that mean anything.
Never heard of such a study but its possible that it's out there somewhere in science research land.
As to more healthy, that is pretty subjective.
i have seen what some vegetarians consider healthy and you can eat crap and survive no matter if you are vegetarian or vegan and still be within the bounds of your dietary selections.
No that's not true. If you eat healthy like just vegetables you won't get all the vitamins and minerals that you need. However, if you eat a lot of red meat it could be be for your health. Generally you have to have a well balanced diet. I know people who ate just vegetables but they had heart attack at the end. On the other hand, i know people who ate a lot of meat but they didn't die until 90 or 95 so it doesn't really matter. For being healthy, then yes who eat vegetables is healthier.
I hope i answered your question.
Personal knowledge
No, its wrong..
Actually God made our Teeth to chew both veg and non veg
Example, Animals who eat veg..they dont have Canines and animals who eats meat they have canines
We (human beings) have canines and molar teeth.
What else ...we ourself are the best example for your question.

Vegetarians are a joke. Without meat you die! But then again who cares because the government clones all the food so you better prayer over everything because everything is contaminated. Welcome to the future of food!
well yes and no, their are proteins in meats that are needed for a healthy body, so vegetarians would need to take vitamin supplements
im a biology student
Yes they do until they catch a decease.
