Question: Are beans good?(i've honestly never tried them)?
I was wondering...are beans good?
I'm trying to lose some weight and I've heard they're good for fiber and weight loss...
I've never tried them(I know, I'm a weirdo...)
But are they good?

Anyway, like so many other foods, it depends on how they're prepared. Plain beans--just boiled until tender, or straight out of a can, can be pretty bland. I prefer to make a bean-and-veggie soup, or chili, or bean burritos. I don't care for regular baked beans, but I do like a spicier, less sweet version I found online. And I LOVE red beans and rice!

The thing to remember about beans is that even though they don't taste like much on their own, they absorb other flavors well. So you can cook them with almost any sort of spice and flavoring. However, since they soak up a LOT of water when they cook (assuming you're cooking dried beans and not just heating up canned beans) you need a generous amount of seasoning.



I agree totally with Fishy. I will also add this. If you use dried beans make very sure to follow the directions on the packet as beans need proper soaking. Most also need a good ten to fifteen minutes hard boiling to remove toxins. Sorry to sound negative, but improperly cooked beans can make you ill. Sounds like a pain and if it is? Just use canned beans. Also very good but less hassle. The dried ones have the advantage that they last ages in the cupboard and are very very cheap.



Beans are a good source of iron and fiber. Ignore the toot part, you are not human if you dont do it. Beans can be cooked in many different ways and you can add different spices. I know a girl who had never had them, she ate them once and now she craves them lol cant go a week without them.



Depends greatly on how they are cooked. Canned beans are meh, but homemade bean recipes are awesome. Get a slow cooker and look for some recipes online. Also you are right there good for fiber and weight loss. They are also a good source of protien.



Beans, beans, the musical fruit, the more you eat, the more you toot.



Beans don't have a whole lot of flavor alone but are a great base in many recipes.

yes they are. i really like black beans and chickpeas.



I never knew how good beans were until i became vegatarian. Their awesome! And each type of bean has its own unique flavor. Mix it in chilli and put it on toast. So delicious



Can't go wrong with protein



i like beans with italian dressing and tzatziki. DONT THINK IM WEIRD :(
