Question: Could I eat sausages that have the 8th dec as a use by date?
Just wondered... It's 9th dec today.

Answers:

Yes :)

Most of the stuff in my fridge is off and I haven't died? Lol(:

How is meat relavent to Vegetarian and Vegan?

However, as I want to often tell my mother-in-law, "Good golly. You HAVE to eat it by 11:59 on the date. By 12:00 a.m. it will instantly go bad and you will get seriously ill." She's very picky about that. That's why I have not told her that while I was pregnant I ate two boxes of cereal that were at least six months past the date. (The first one I knew about. The second one I didn't know about unitl I was half way through it.) My father-in-law is not that bad. He will eat food past its date as long as my MIL doesn't find out. The irony is that they do not keep their refrigerator organized and food goes bad because it gets forgotten, shoved in the back, etc. (When I go I dig for things to finish up.) When we visited the day after Thanksgiving, my FIL put a bottle of ketchup in our cooler with a date from July or August.

Yes, if you do eat those things, they should still be good. (Though I don't trust meat from the grocery store anyway. I've heard stories regarding how they put stuff on the meat and turn it over in he package to make it look better and fresher than what it is.)

Yes, food is often still fresh past the sell by date but it is a government and food health and safety requirement that the date is there. Enjoy

Yes. The date is a "sell by" date as opposed to an expiration date.

Yes, i just ate some that were dated 4th Dec, if they smell and look ok and have been in your fridge they will be fine.

Yes, or course you can.

Not if you're a vegetarian.
