Because it should be done on humans, criminals would be even better.

Animals aren't humans. In fact, in regard to testing it's been proven that testing on animals is extremely inaccurate. If you test a new brand of, say, foundation on a cat to see what the reaction is if consumed, the reaction that comes from the cat is going to be completely different to what a human reaction would be. A cat isn't a human.

And after being tested on animals, products have to be tested on humans anyway. As testing on humans is the only way you can be sure that your results are accurate.

The best way to stop animal testing is to buy products that are not tested on animals. Google 'cruelty free products' and you'll find heaps of companies and brands that are safe.

This is a more complicated question than it appears at first sight. In theory I am 100 percent opposed to it altogether and consider it is worse than immoral to test products such as cosmetics on animals. I do, however, feel for say, the parents of a two year old with a life-threatening condition who are between a rock and a hard place. If they agree to using untested drugs on their child, it could be as fatal as the disease the child is suffering from. If tested, it will save the child but is cruel to animals. I also wonder how strongly moral I would remain if I found that an animal tested drug was my only hope of life. I think I know what most parents would choose. It's very easy for us all to take the high moral ground when we haven't been placed in that situation.
And tempting though it is to say let us use criminals, that would be just as immoral.
Maybe a voluntary program should be put in place encouraging criminals to agree to sign up for testing. For those who aren't a danger to the public, maybe they could be rewarded with a small reduction in prison time served.

Because they should test on Paedophiles, rapists and murderers....NOT innocent animals. The human race preys on the innocent for some reason.

yes, they should test it on humans

It could spoil the meat!
