I don't know how you would go about doing this but I suggest you look into it, I for one would definitely watch it if you were able to do it.
I really want to get the word spread to more people about what may be going on inside slaughterhouses too.
I think that's a wonderful idea. You'll find that in today's modern slaughterhouses, animals are killed in the most humane manner possible. it's a Federal law. So get out there on the road and stop at ALL the big slaughterhouses. There's a big one in Dodge City, KS. I'm sure they'd be glad to welcome you.
It's a good idea but I'd think you'd have to get hired to get into one. You might want to watch the Temple Grandin Movie just to see what some who works with the meat industry (she's tried to work for more humane slaughter houses) went through just to get into one. If you rent from redbox and use the promo code Breakroom you can rent it for free.

Look, if this is your life long dream, then there is nothing that can stop you from doing it...of course I mean you REALLY need to be willing to do ANYTHING. Just don't under-go this alone, that's one of the worst things you could do. Good luck and I hope to see this happen. It's a great goal.
Why bother?
It's been done.
See YOUTUBE for any proof you might need.
People who don't share your views wouldn't bother to watch your video anyway...
Why would you ever want to go to one of those.
They make me sick.
I'm telling ya i'm not a vegetarian but you wouldn't be able 2 handle it. I've been in one at 14 years old and watched my cousin in horror slaughter a already dead deer at my relatives slaughterhouse. It was horrible and the place he cut it all up was disgusting. blood and parts all over the place. It's burnt In my mind. When i got older I worked at IBP (Iowa Beef Packers) Which is a HUGH slaughterhouse I didn't witness the killing I was on the clod cutting line but this place was pristine and very clean and paid very well but i couldn't do it too long. I wouldn't suggest u do it. Especially since your a vegan.
They aren't going to let you just walk in unless you get a job there and go undercover.
Just like any large-scale industrial operation, a slaughterhouse is an inherently dangerous place. There are huge machines, it's hot and noisy, and animals weighing upwards of thousands of pounds are moving rather quickly. They don't need activists running around unattended with cameras and reporters with microphones looking for an interview, because you are going to get in the way and either you or one of the workers is going to get injured as a result.
You ever wonder why they don't let just anyone into factories and construction sites? Same reason; if you get killed doing something careless and foolish, it's a lot of paperwork for the site manager to fill out.
Most of you rant is untrue so starting a "project" based on falsehoods is doomed to fail. If you were really intellectually honest, you would visit (if they let you in) and video everything that you see not just the footage you want people to see based on your own prejudices.
I hate muggers in New York and if I made a videotape of all the mugging incidents I see and claim that that is how all New Yorkers are, that wouldn't be fair nor accurate now would it? Or is I videotape 2 hours worth of anorexic vegetarians and say that is what vegetarianism does to your body, you think that's truthful? since you already have these preconceived ideas on what you think goes on there, why bother "investigating" at all? Why not save money and time and just produce something fake then claim it was filmed inside a real slaughterhouse. From your rant, our intention seems to be presenting what you already think not what is actually true.
err McDonald's doesn't have a farm unless you mean "old McDonald" from the old children song. Before embarking on your "quest" may I suggest a side visit to a psychiatrist/counselor? You seem very angry for someone who is supposedly full of "compassion". And simple research might hlp to get your facts straight because you are starting to sound very ignorant. I won't be surprised if you are 10 or 11 years old.
If you decide to follow up with this idea, do your research before hand. A lot of these establishments won't just let you "tour" around, much less with a camera in hand, even if you're an employee. There are many safety, sanitation,ect... legal issues that prevent this from being done. Also if you're going in there with a bias or something that shows the establishment in a negative viewpoint, they could flat-out refuse to allow you in. (I mean, why let a person w/o reputable credentials record take a "documentary" your facility if they were going to bash it?)
You will run into some serious issues with recording as well, main reason is that you would NOT be allowed to just bring in a camera without proper authorization/clearance. (This is essentially a HUGE food safety risk; glass, loose parts, foreign materials, ect that can potentially get into their work environment and contaminate the meat). There is a whole slew of protocol that must be followed unless you plan on potentially being thrown in jail. Also there's the chance you might not be allowed to tour the entire facility, I've personally been inside a pork processor due to a class and seen all but the kill-floor and carcass chiller. It would be a very different experience to most especially if they hadn't researched about it prior to visiting. A large lairage room, stunning area, desiring/skinning... and a HUGE rendering section. (This usually comprises the majority of the slaughterhouse), this includes workers in moist/humid conditions, cool/cold conditions, neutral conditions disassembling the animal and preparing it for transport.
All this said, I personally would welcome more information being available about this... BUT this information should be gathered/published in a NEUTRAL, TRUTHFUL way. If you plan on just doing a smear campaign, to only show what can go wrong with the process (IE: A peta video) without providing adequate background information (IE: If you have a pig improperly stunned, what is the rate of this happening at the establishment. If only say, 10 pigs of 1000 were conscious during the process, STATE SO! Making incorrect correlations and lying are not the ethical ways to promote a cause, regardless of how much you/others desire it to be pushed.) There are many reasons not to avoid the animal, besides animal welfare, it usually results in a lower quality product overall, meaning the big corporations don't make as much potential money!
Again, I do support what you are doing, I really do. But should you decide to embark on this journey, to do so in an ethical, non-bias, truthful and legal manner. There are enough lies/half-truths out there for everything, we don't need more false/misleading information available. I'm sure almost everyone, regardless of work, educational, personal, political experience, ect can agree/see this.
