Have my string beans gone bad?!
I was going to stir fry some nice beans as part of my last meal on campus before break, when I notice that there are some brown spots on the beans. It doesn't look severe, but I am not sure if I should cook them. What do you think? Is it safe to cook these, or have they gone bad? Thanks!
Ps. They were stored in the refrigerator for about two weeks after purchase.

If they're slimy, throw them out.
If not, try to break one in half. If it snaps, they're fine; if it bends, they're old. They might still be edible cut up in a soup or something, but won't be great on their own.
If they look ok other than the spots then they should be ok - if they're floppy or slimy then throw them out!
Toss them out. They will be tough and stringy, extra stringy. Buy the food, cook the food, eat the food.
