Question: Is it safe? I'm freakin hungry and I need to know...?
I have cream cheese that is labeled august 15th, but it's completely unopened and it's been in the fridge. is it safe to eat?

I want a damn bagel. right. now.

Depends. Does the label say "use by" or "best before"? If "use by" - ditch it. If "best before" - open it, sniff it, then if it seems ok, try a little bit. If not, ditch it. I suspect that, being a dairy product, it's probably not going to keep that long.



Those things are dated "Best By..." for a reason. As it is now December, I'd say you probably should not eat the cream cheese. Is there really nothing else in your house that you could eat..?



check it for mold and smell it if it has a rancid odor ...do not eat it...salmonella poisoning



....I would eat it. But if it tastes funny then throw it away:) lol

if it is green furry and smelly then DONT eat it. if it is un open that it should be ok



No-eat your bagel plain if you're too lazy to go to the store.



Open it up and see what it looks like.
