Why do you think eating meat is wrong?!

Question: Why do you think eating meat is wrong?
lets say our farmers let out all the animals we get meat from (cows, pigs, chicken etc)

they're just going to get eaten buy something else anyways. (maybe not cows lol)

so what's the deal?

Answers:

its not meat is awesome if animals do it why cant we. If anything we can cook it better and add favor.

meat lover i am

I personally believe that it is wrong to expect something to give its life simply for the taste. A person can live perfectly healthy without eating meat, so to me it is wasteful, inhumane, and unethical to kill something for the pleasure of a certain taste. Why would I take something (another creatures existence), when it is something I would never be willing to give. I would fight tooth and nail to live, and assume that most other things would as well.

As far as farmers letting out animals? That would never happen. Slaughter animals are purposefully bred. Even if everyone decided to become vegetarian(which is what I assume you are getting at), it would not happen over night, there would be a decrease in breeding, the animals already bred would be eaten, and since no new animal are bred for slaughter there would be nothing to let out. On another note, if everyone decided not to eat animals, there would be no way that domesticated farm animals would be allowed to roam free. Releasing unnatural animals into an environment is illegal, as it can potentially destroy the balance in an ecosystem. If these animals were somehow released many would starve, get hit by cars, etc not get killing and eaten as domesticated animals do not know how to survive in the wild.

that should do the trick! :)

Oh and also one pound of beef requires as much water to produce as a whole years worth of showering
1 pound of beef=5,200 gallons of water
1 years worth of showering=5,000 gallons of water

here is something i suggest everyone read

i think it's wrong how they treat the animals. anyways, they might be killed but i don't have to be part of it. what i mean is if something bad is going to happen i don't have to be a part of it if i don't agree.

Because it's unnecessary for healthy diets- it been proven BAD for you
compared to eating a healthy vegetarian diet- and it's so terrible for the environment.
It's the second most contributing factor to global warming.

vegan hippie :P

I see it as the ultimate in human arrogance and evil, just like leather/fur and forcing animals to fight.

Raising/keeping another being just to kill it. It's disgusting.

Humans have no respect for life or nature.

"lets say our farmers let out all the animals we get meat from"

It doesn't work like that. Farmers are constantly breeding more animals to meet consumer demand. If people stopped eating meat, farmers would simply stop breeding animals for human consumption.

Because its not right to kill animals just to please our taste buds.

Because its bad for our health.

Because its bad for the enviroment.

There's a couple different reasons why people don't eat meat and I don't remember all of them but one of them is because how they live and are killed in the slaughterhouses.

Most chickens that people eat have been treated like **** during their short lives. If you treated a dog the way they are treated, you would end up in court.

well, wuld u like to eat yourself or ure friends???????? I highly doubt it. if u have any pets wuld u eat them? doubt that too.

Because pain sucks and it makes me feel bad.

I don't think it's wrong-I think it's not healthy. Put all the saturated fat into your system that you please.

What annoys me is that many vegetarians believe they are helping the cause of animal welfare, but in reality most are causing at least as much suffering as most meat-eaters. Most vegetarians eat more dairy foods in place of meat, but dairy animals live MISERABLE lives, unless they are organic farm animals. They are pushed so hard to produce milk that they suffer badly their whole short lives, eg. constantly suffering from lameness or mastitis (a painful infection of the udders).

If you are concerned about animal welfare, it is much better to eat red meat than cheese and yogurt. Beef and sheep live pretty good lives out in the fields, at least in western Europe. It is less good in the US (where they are kept in intensive 'feed-lots for the last six months) but even there their lives are probably still overall better than dairy animals. Of course, the best is to eat only milk or meat from organically reared, free-range animals (which is what I do).

show me scripture, rules, laws, or regulations that stipulate eating meat is wrong...vegatarians, the phonies that they are, grew up on meat.

Vegetarians/vegans are trying to be too politically correct. I just wanna slap them with a steak really.
