Question: Is it right to oppresss non-human animals?

In a sense to consider ourselves to be better than them. Don't get me wrong we're smarter than them but we seem to think that there is one law for humans and another law for the rest of the animal kingdom for example a human kills someone and gets life in prison but a dog kills someone and gets put down, a husband beats his wife and gets ten years yet an owner beats a dog and only gets two. Why is that?

Its really stupid. Another thing that is stupid is ignorant humans thinking they own animals.

Humans are not better than non human animals.

I guess it's because a cougar can kill a deer anytime and it's ok, but if a human kills a deer out of hunting season, he can be put in jail for poaching.

There are no laws for animals. Lions don't get in trouble with the "law" when they strangle a zebra. Coyotes don't go to jail when they kill a rabbit. Our pets and other domesticated animals live at our will.

Why? Because we're the supreme animal. We're smarter than any other animal. No other animal species has created a civilized society, WMDs, religion, medicine, music, literature, video games, etc.
