I'm thinking of becoming a vegan but....?!

Question: I'm thinking of becoming a vegan but....?
Will I lose my breast (36D), hips, and butt if I stop eating meat?? I notice a lot of women who are vegans aren't curvy at all, but I like being curvy. Is this a myth or will it really happen?

Answers:

You won't lose weight unless you reduce your calorie intake. I'm vegan and I'm pear shape. I'm trying to lose weight. It's all about counting calories and exercise. So if you go vegan but eat the same amount of calories and continue the same amount of exercise (or no exercise), then you really won't change body shape or weight.

That's a myth, honey.

MEAT isn't (in itself) what gives your body a curvy shape. It's simply fat from the foods you eat, some of which you MAY get from meat, obviously, but there's plenty of other fat sources also. That DOES NOT MEAN I'm calling you "fat" at all, by the way. Don't make that mistake. However, any woman who loses a lot of weight to the point of being UNDERWEIGHt will lose much of her curvyness. Again, that does NOT mean that fat=curvy, you can surely be curvy WITHOUT fat. However, the more fat you lose from your body, the less fat you will have on your body, and thus the less your NATURAL curves will show.

Maintain (roughly) your caloric intake and exercise level, and you should maintain your weight, which means maintaining that curvy bod. =)

It's possible you could lose weight, but if you keep up with your same calorie intake then you won't. Just eat lots of whole grains, potatoes, dried fruit, nuts, nut butter, beans, avocados...those are all vegan that are more dense in calories, which should help you keep your figure. :)

Curves are determined by genetics. Weiging more or less doesn't usually change your body type/shape. I've been vegan for 8 months and I still have my outrageous curves... just a little less of the fat (where I didn't want it anyway). It's the best decision I've made!

You do plan to maintain your current caloric intake, right? Unless you cut your food intake significantly or start exercising a ton more, you should maintain your weight and curves.

If you are wise enough, you can be slim eating meat too.
there are also fat and unproportioned vegans who over eat carbs.

Diet + excercise = No fail

No, you won't lose your curves.

I've been vegan for nine months and I still have mine! haha

Ha, I'd be worried about that too. Work that T&A girl.
