You're a pescetarian.

You'd be a pescatarian. Pescatarians may eat eggs & dairy or only 1 of the 2, and they still include seafood (inclu.fish) in their diet, but NOT meat.

A vegetarian may eat eggs & dairy or only one of the 2, but they do not consume ANY meat or seafood (including fish).

If someone did not eat seafood, meat, eggs OR dairy, he/she would be a vegan. =)

A semi-vegetarian, actually, is someone who still eats fish/seafood AND meat, but is trying/has cut down their intake of such foods to a significant degree, with only 1 meal per day (or less) involving a meat item. What makes this different from a VEGETARIAN is that a vegetarian has FULLY cut out all seafood & meat, where a semi-vegetarian is in the process of doing so.

You can also be a "pesco-pollo vegetarian", in which you may eat eggs & dairy or only 1 of the 2, and you will still eat fish (pesco) and chicken (pollo) but not other meats.

^-----However, it's interesting that "pesco-pollo vegetarian" is the only type of vegetarian like that. For example, there is no such title for a person who decides to eat, say, beef and (possibly) seafood. I guess the term arose because so many people didn't want to eat meat in general, but still wanted to consume chicken.

I do get it. It's somewhat common for people who call themselves vegetarians to eat fish. I think it's fine if your goal is to become full vegetarian or even vegan. I would say you are a semi-vegetarian. Pescetarian would be the most accurate word but the usage is rare so vegetarian would be fine.

Personally, I think eating factory farmed milk and eggs is worse than eating fish in my opinion. Being mindful of what you eat the best you can and knowing what effects your consumption has on other sentient beings is really the main point, not putting labels on yourself.

You're a pescetarian. They don't have a separate forum on Y!A, and the term "pescetarian" is not widely known. But, give it twenty or thirty years and maybe it might be more widely known and understood. In the meantime a lot of people are extremely confused and will erroneously call you a vegetarian, which you plainly aren't.

There is a pescetarian forum available elsewhere, if you were interested:

Vegan!

You're not a vegetarian, you're a meat eater.

Vegetarians dont eat animals.

"i chose not to eat meat because of the way that kill the animals in slaughter houses" What about fish? Do you think they're killed in a nice way? More fish are killed each year than animals in slaughterhouses.

Pure meat? Fish is meat. You would be called a pescaterian. Fyi fish aren't treated that well before slaughter either. Nothing against pescaterians though, just if your doing it for the animals then its hypocritical to still eat fish. Same for vegetarians and dairy. But hey I'm a vegetarian sooo......

You are not a vegetarian. You're an omnivore.
Btw, fish is considered meat. And fish are not treated any better than the other animals in the slaughterhouses. And egg laying hens and dairy cows are treated even worse.

vegan :D

You're right. You aren't a vegetarian because you eat fish, but there are some vegetarians who eat eggs and milk.

vegan

Fish is meat, not a vegetarian, just a liar

here's some info:

@ Aviation747: the term for someone who doesn't eat pork or seafood would be "kosher."

YES your right your not a vegetarian !

yes

your a semi vegetarian.. and by the way, fish is a kind of meat ( it's a dead animal afterall).
a semi vegetarian is someone who doesn't eat red meat but still eats some meat ( like you... you eat fish)

i'm a vegetarian who doesn't eat any kind of meat but does eat cheese, and dairy

You are a type of vegetarian I like to call a red meat/poultry vegetarian. If you never eat any of those meats then you are.
