the most important chemicals required for the brain are all syntehsized by the brain itself. so you really dont need to eat anything special or out of the ordinary. a diet containing high amino acids, and unsaturated fatty acids is enough to synthesize the neurotransmitters and myelin sheath of neurons, and a good quantity of carbs for the brain to actually think. so eating a very normal well balanced diet is more than enough for the brain to work at peak efficiency. vit b12 is also important for neural tissue, and will definitely help in keeping the spinal cord in good shape.
