Are there any brands of UK milk that come from well-treated cows?!

Question: Are there any brands of UK milk that come from well-treated cows?
Yeah, we've been doing about dairy farming in class and I've really gone off the idea of mass-produced milk. I just hate the idea of it...is there any kind of milk that comes from 'well treated' cows?

Answers:

Dairy farming is not as factory oriented in the U.K and most of the others whom answered are not aware that they do not inject UK cows with BGH, I would look to organic milk or ones from a specialized farms, I am a former chef, from Canada and we do not use BGH here either, my chef mates in the UK buy from a company that uses very highly developed milking practises, cows are not miss treated, they like being milked and need to be or have udder issues.

Check around at the local health food and natural food shops, even in the US and here in Canada we have organic milk, from non hormone treated cows, I know a few dairy farmers and have had raw milk several times, even have drank reindeer, yak, horse, goat, sheep and camels milks over the years I was a chef.

No. A well treated cow is a cow that is not used or exploited in any way shape or form for any reason. Meaning no milk, no veal, no beef, no leather, none of that. You wouldn't walk up too a random lady on the street and hook up a breast pump to her without her consent (though you might need to forcibly impregnate her first as they do in the dairy industry) Or if she had a kid you for sure wouldn't take the kids milk? Why would you do the exact same thing on a larger scale and with much more cruelty to cows (including the free range/organic/humane facilities)

For milk substitutes without the cruelty and slavery try: Almond, rice, soy, oat, coconut, hazelnut, cashew, hemp, sunflower seed, or any others I missed. Many can be drunk straight up depend on the brand and are great for cooking and baking. As a chef I use them all the time though mostly soy, almond, coconut (put the can in the fridge and take out the cream from the top and you can make whipped cream) and hazelnut.

Anyone who makes excuses for using and abusing cows for milk has no excuse with the huge amount of various non-dairy milks out there that taste better than cow's milk ever could taste and is way healthier for you and the planet. You never have to give up milk just give up cows.

vegan because animals are not property

I don't think so. Cows are given injections to produce more and more milk. Give it up, you don't need it.

EDIT: Change your diet then, no point in having it and feeling guilty.

EDIT: I was not trying to force anything, I was recommending something. Stop being so rude. Plus I was referring to the UK.

in a perfect world, i wouldnt want anyone to eat meat or dairy, but thats just my opinion. so i think we have to work on getting better treated meat/dairy, like you say. sainsburys and waitrose have organic milk. if you have milk you'll be better off buying organic cheese too since that's the dairy industry too.

No, because all the milk from cows is mixed up.
Try some vegan milks - a lot of them taste the same - you will not notice any difference, especially if you are cooking with them.
I use Soya Life and Rice Dream mostly.

No.
