Can eating raw bacon kill you?!

Question: Can eating raw bacon kill you?
Answers:

It's possible, but my mom once ate raw bacon and it didn't kill her. Btw, why are you asking this in the vegetarian/vegan section?

Eating food, any food, cooked or raw, meat or plants can kill you if there are enough pathogens still living to cause fatal damage to your system. Contrary to popular belief, a few pathogenic organisms is not going to be fatal. However, if the organism multiplies fast enough or numerous enough to overwhelm your body's immune system it can be fatal. Unless the animal is very diseased or the meat is very rotten, the worst you can except is a bum stomach. If your body is used to the organism existing in the food, there is also a good chance that no harm will come to you at all.

to be safe, just cook the raccoon. will improve the flavor too.

It depends on the type of bacon. If its a cured bacon it will not hurt you. The curing kills anything that might be present in the meat. The deer sausage I make each year is a cured sausage. The sausage its self is raw meat, but curing it makes sure there is nothing in the meat that can cause any harm.

Most meat can be eaten raw with no ill effects. Just like fruits and vegetables can be eaten raw. But there is a chance with BOTH (meat and produce) that you can get sick from eating them.

eating raw anything can kill you. But likely it wouldn't. I used to eat raw bacon all the time when I was a kid, never killed me. It is remotely possible to get things like ecoli but less likely these days. There is a reason why we cook meat but don't worry the chances of it killing you are very remote. Just cook it from now on.

If there is bad bacteria on it, yes it can make you very sick and possibly kill you. There is no way to know, so just make sure to cook it. I can't imagine it is very tasty when raw anyways.

since raw bacon is meat and still raw it might have some bacteria that can cause harm to your body, you have to cook it thoroughly.

if you get food poisoning yes.
i wouldnt recommend it.
besides cooked bacon is the shizz.
:)

It could, but the chances are pretty small. Any time you eat raw or undercooked meat, there is greater risk.

Possibly. Even too much cooked bacon isn't good for your heart or general health.

No, however if there is some sort of virus or something wrong with the meat, it can kill you.

If you eat enough of it, otherwise it will give you HORRIBLE food poisoning

Either that or you'll get gravely ill and your digestion may never be the same after that.

google the diseases contained in raw bacon

Yes. That's why we have stoves. Remember learning about salmonella and e-coli in school?

Yes. You can get trichinosis.
