Pescatarians - what are your reasons?!

Question: Pescatarians - what are your reasons?
I can understand that someone who doesn't like the taste of meat becomes a pescatarian, but what are their other reasons?

Thanks in advance!

This one lady from the Netherlands swore up and down she was a vegetarian. In fact, she once made a celebratory post about how she hadn't eaten meat for 26 years. She eats fish, though. Her reasoning was that it was healthy. She was quite the peski-peskitarian, but I set her straight. ;-)

Vegan

1) Because animals are farmed and fish are caught- they lived a natural life in the wild.
2) I could kill a fish, but not an animal if I needed to.
3) It's a good compromise as I'm less difficult to cater for when visiting friends or going to restaurants.
4) It's easier to cater for myself too, though vegetarian food is great and there's loads of choice these days.

I became a vegetarian when I was 15, but started eating fish (occasionally) when I was 18. I had a strong craving for fish fingers! I would like to become a vegetarian again, though I don't eat that much fish really.

I was pescetarian last year.. I became vegetarian for new years' resolution.. I want to be vegan for next year =)..

My reason was, I didn't want to eat meat, but my nana was drilling it into me, "but you NEED fish," and "OK, don't eat beef, chicken, anything else.. but eat fish.. Please.."

- so I did.. plus it made things easier. I guess I was just 'preparing' myself for being a vegetarian by easing in slowly.. sometimes too much of a big change won't last long!! I hope this helps you=)..

Pescatarians, they are the perfect example of the word "ignorant"
They think they are better than everyone else but they still kill life that can feel pain, their excuse is that they feel ( the fish ) no pain, just because they cant express it.

I eat fish because I love the taste and I feel it is very good for me. I don't care much for the taste of other meat so I just don't eat it.

Well I feel that animals are my friend, and I don't eat my friends. :D

..because they don't want to eat any other meat..

My answer to that is that meat provides no nutritional benefit besides iron and protein which you can get from other sources or supplements. Certain fish provide essential nutrients that are needed to stay healthy with less harmful side effects as meat. Some of these nutrients prevent some of the harmful side effects of a diet that is heavy on the meat side. And the way the cattle is handled in this country is not cool on many levels. I am all for the circle of life but you cannot get around the saying you are what you eat. And I'm also not to concerned about that fact that we have to kill them to eat them. We as humans would not have survived on this planet without eating meat. But there is a way to do things and a way not to. Both the bible and the quran speak of this so maybe there is something to it.

Because they like the taste of fish or they need the nutrients it gives them without having to take supplements. I'm a veggie who started to eat fish last year but I can't abide chewy, meaty fish like monk fish or shellfish. It has to be soft, melty fish.
