I think it is true. Silk is actually owned by a large dairy farm company.
Try ricemilk or almond milk. I prefer it, actually.
Vegan
Yes that is true. But regardless of that fact Silk is owned by Dean foods one of, if not the largest dairy corporations in the world. They are responsible for the suffering and torture and abuse and rape of millions upon million of cows each day. Yes Silk itself doesn't contain animal products but the company that makes it has dairy factories all over the U.S. and parts of Europe and that is not something to support. Basically most dairy products in the country probably came from Dean Foods who buys up small farms and family run operations (which still have the same cruelty and disregard for animals) and turns them into a part of their monopoly.
Now obviously in some places Silk is the only non-dairy/animal milk you can find and if you really must have a milk than I would rather people drink Silk than a mothers milk. If you are traveling somewhere that might not have non-dairy milk than get some of those tetrabriks of your favorite brand. They are shelf stable and usually pretty cheap so perfect for travel. Or you can get something like Better than Soy:

Or just do without it for a bit. Drink juice or water.
Thankfully for me most of my Silk consumption was before I was vegan.
vegan because animals are not property
It's true that they changed the packaging and the store you normally bought your Silk soy milk probably carries the "natural" type now. They do still sell organic Silk at Costco. They only carry vanilla (at least at mine), but it's cheaper than any store-bought "natural" Silk milk.
Yup...It's true..!!
