Your care for animals sort of takes over and forces you to stop if you're really concerned about animals.
I was disgusted by the research I had done about meat processing when I was 12. I stopped eating meat the next day and never went back. You basically have to find WHY you are wanting to do this and stick with it.
That's why people who are doing it just for the title or just for "fun" tend to have a really hard time sticking with it.
And no, you don't need "protein pills". As long as you're following a healthy diet you're fine.

If you want to try again try again! It is hard to just stop eating meat, but with a little will power you can do it. And don't worry about your family teasing you. Just simply tell them that you wanna try again and that no one is perfect. Just try going in slowly. Start off by eliminating all fish, and when you have that down eliminate chicken, then steak then all the rest of the meats. Or you could just eliminate them all at once. Either way is fine! Just do what you want! I am also thinking of becoming a vegetarian and so far I havent had meat in 3 days.

you also need to find a motivation. for me it was one of those meat processing videos. For you it could be that or your love of animals

check out this website for some facts on why to become a vegetarian it may help you stay motivated http://www.pcrm.org/health/veginfo/veget…

uhhm all you have to do is quit eating meat? i'm sorry your family wasn't supportive. i hate that. but if you enjoy eating meat then being a vegetarian is hard. i became a vegetarian after i realized how much i don't like meat and how much i love living things. so basically if you want your family to be supportive you need to explain to them why you are making the decision you are making. you also may need to show them alternative sources of protein so they know you aren't putting your health on the line. and it will get easier the longer you do it. i used to look in the fridge and think i might want some chicken. but i went for the cheese instead and now i look at chicken and all i see is dead chicken in the fridge and look away.

Just ignore your family, who cares what they think. If they are going to be that immature to tease you about it, then forget them; you know the reasons for why you are doing this and that they make you happy. They will eventually move on and find something or someone else to tease. Maybe they thought you weren't really serious about it, so prove them wrong.

Just be sure to get all your nutrition you need, such as iron, protein, and omega fatty acids.

Good luck! -amy

I'm in middle school too and I am also a vegetarian. If your family teases you, don't listen to them. It happens to me a lot of times. When they tease you just think about the animals and the harm you'd be doing to them if you ate meat.

Your family probably just teased you since they assumed it was just a phase and you'd soon give up.

You sure proved them wrong!

then be a vegan. vegetarianism is only for health concerns.

if your only issue was being teased, get over it. i wanted to do it and couldn't because i have high protein needs.

If you believe strongly enough in not eating meat you'll just have to have the willpower to do it. Honestly .. loving animals isn't a reason to become Veg ... Ever heard of the circle of life? -- If it's for health reasons, well it's another story. I'm not Veg but I have a cousin who has been one for about 10 years, another cousin of mine was Veg for 15 years then woke up one day and said "I need a hamburger" and was done with it (?????????????????? I thought that was funny). Anyways, .... Will power. and you'll need to take protein pills.
