It's just the word manufacturers used for it, I guess. It sounds better to me than almond juice.

Vegan

As others have said, it's not actually milk. It's called milk because it looks a bit like milk and works as a milk substitute. Almond milk is actually made from almonds and water. Nothing else. Recipe to make your own here if you are interested.

Non-dairy cows.

Some words can have more than one meaning. This is one of those words. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milk_%28dis…

Technically, I guess it's "non-dairy milk substitute," but vegans have a hard enough time as it is without having everything they eat sound as appetising as gravel.

Like hundreds of other "foods", veg*ns grab on to something familiar and twist it to fit their agenda. Soy milk is not milk, neither is almond milk. Vegan brownies are not brownies, they just use the name to try and sell a product.

They just call it "milk" because it resembles milk. It's actually more like juice.

Almond milk is made from ground almonds. It just looks like milk; that's probably why they call it that. It's really just juice. Yum almond juice!!!

its only called milk, while its really just water & powder.

from non dairy cows

logic

its like a process that they go through, cant really explain it but its like getting coconut oil from coconuts.

Non dairy cows?
