Ok, I'm going to answer your question two parts here :

Firstly, the food that we eat here in Spain isn't that different to many other places in the Western World. It's that fact that many of the ingredients are more plentiful and cheaper that means that we might sometimes use them differently to other places.

I'm guessing that what your teacher is really asking you is to name some typically Spanish meals (note : that doesn't mean that we don't eat Japanese Sushi, Italian Pizzas or Indian Curries aswell !) - Some typically Spanish meals eaten at Dinner would be Fish with salad, a Boccadillo (sandwich) or some Tapas.
- Generally speaking, most Spaniards eat their main meal of the day at Lunch time and this is when things like Paella, Putchero, Tortillas etc,, would be eaten. Smaller and lighter meals are usually eaten in the evening.

Just did a quick google search and isn't too difficult to find some sample menus of Spanish cultures. You could also try searching Mediteranean diets as Spain is in the Mediteranean.

The second link is a Restaurant menu so just check out where it says "RACIONES (entrees) and you'll get some ideas. Before you click on the links. I've pasted some of it here. Looks like fresh fish and seafood, rice and chicken is a pretty common and typical part of their meals!!

People in Spain start having dinner on a wide range that can be from 8pm to 11pm depending on the person.

Also, depending on the people dinner can be a large dish of fish or meat or any kind of omelette or a lighter dish like a salad or a soup. This depends on the person, there's no rule about it.



Spanish food. or just plain food. Believe it or not, Spaniards are still human beings.

If you mean "traditional " Spanish food, there are literally thousands and it won't be fair nor accurate to list a few and imply that that is representative of the whole Spanish diet. A bit of info though, Spain after Japan is the biggest consumer of fish/seafood per capita.
My mother is a Spaniard and here is a partial list of what's is in her traditional" pantry/kitchen:
ham (Jam on Serrano, Pata Negra or Jamon Iberico, chorizo de Bilbao, chorizo de calidad chorizo de Valenecia, morcillas, rice, machengo cheese, queso de bilbao. different varieties of olive oil, extra virgin and not, olives preserved, in oil, saffron or azafran, pimenton dulce, pimenton picata, peppers etc etc etc.. Of course others bought and (harvested from our farm) daily



Normally a soft dinner.

Start dish and second dish (perhaps fish), obviously depend on the area from you are.

Tapas are a kind of appetizer dish, you normally get multiple little plates and have it with a glass of wine or beer for dinner. I am unsure why they have large meals for lunch (like american size dinner) and small meal for dinner, its probably due to their culture and the climate of the country. but i highly recommended finding a Spanish tapa restaurant, where ever you live because tapas are amazing!



A lot of it is meat, spain is the largest meat consuming country in the world
