i dont have veggie oil and my canola oil is running low can i use olive oil? or is the gross

Oh. That's ...interesting. But, to each his own, I guess. My dad used to eat cottage cheese and ketchup. My aunt eats peanut butter pickle sandwiches. So do what you like. Don't use olive oil though, it's not meant for high temperatures.

yyyuummm... i have tried deep fried oreos with white sugar powder on top , i tried it in Disneyland and i also got a funnel cake, well my mom asked them what oil they used and they said they used canola oil. olive oil will make it nasty



No olive oil for deep frying. You need an oil that can take high temperatures for deep frying foods (corn, canola, vegetable, etc.) You can use Crisco if you have it.
The olive oil will smoke and and burn. :(



As others have said, heating olive oil that high may indeed cause it to smoke/burn and taste pretty awful.

On another note... I LOVE deep fried oreos. lol... I had one at the state fair a few years ago... my gawd, it was heavenly.



Olive oil should actually be kept as close to room temperature as possible. It would be a bad idea to try deep frying with it.
