Should i stop being Vegetarian?!
Answers:
Your ideals of being a vegetarian are purely your own. Remember that no matter what anyone says, it doesn't change the way you personally feel about eating meat.
Letting some one persuade you to do something you want to do is also a good thing. It is not a reason for them to thumb their nose at you; it is a reason to celebrate that you are friends with people who want to support your decisions.
If you think you need to change yourself, being a vegetarian might not be the right way to do it. Be honest with yourself about your own expectations for your future. If you're looking to lose weight or save money, it's not as important whether or not it's with or without meat. But if you're doing it for the animal's rights as a humane gesture, be honest with yourself and your friends about that. Don't shove it under the carpet ignoring what you want to do. Figure out for yourself why you want to do this before making a better decision.
Morning Star products are supposed to be pretty good. I only had the hamburger patties, and although I know it doesn't taste exactly like meat does, it kind of does the job. It has that heartiness to it and a type of meaty flavor. It also has a similar texture, only it's not as juicy and is more tough, but it's still close enough. If I add ketchup, some lettuce, and tomatoes, it practically tastes like a real hamburger. I think if you gave it to unsuspecting people, they wouldn't be able to tell much. People who love their meat and go for the highest quality would probably hate it though. I only bought one package ever though just to try it.
Sounds like you made up your mind already. I would say there are PLENTY of good reasons to stay vegetarian. The only reason to eating meat really is "taste good." I bet you haven't really explore the many veggie food options. Vegetarian food can also be very delicious.
Why did you even become vegetarian in the first place? People who just do it just because will definitely lack the will power to stay one.
You need to be confident in doing what's best for you. It's hard when you're young but learn to please yourself, not others unless it directly affects them. Why should you not eat meat if you're unhappy about it? If you're worried about weight or health, eat no more than 200g lean meat per day. Enjoy. You're not going to stop animals being killed for meat unless they pass a law about it. Stop worrying about what other people think. Your life won't be your own ever if you do this. Everyone has different ideas & preferences, so you won't please everybody & why should you? The old Aesop fable of the Man the Boy & the Donkey says, 'Try to please all & you will please none.', including yourself.
As what I said to another question it is not a "should" but you can if you choose to. "Why" is the question only you can really answer.
"Vegetarian" is a diet and refers to food only, no more no less, no other meaning is implied or stated. . Whatever other people try to attach to it to make it more "saintly" is irrelevant to anyone else but them. It is the same with you. Whatever you decide, does not add to or diminish you as a person in anyway. .
Do whatever makes you happy. Most people who "become vegetarian" change their mind pretty quickly. If being teased about going back to eating meat is the worst thing that ever happens to you, you'll have a wonderful life. Just shrug and say you changed your mind.
If you miss meat why not try meat subsitutes? They taste like real meat (kind of). remember because you are a vegetarian you are making the world a better place. Please give it another try!
Go to meat.org can you live wih that?
I am a vegetarian!
don't be a vegetarian if your heart isn't in it. You will just end up being one of those ones that think it's cool to tell people you are and then eat meat in secret. which is lame.
So yeah, I'd say start eating meat again if you can't handle it.
veg 6 yrs
It seems you have no real reason or values to stay vegetarian anyway. Becoming vegetarian is not something to be doing just because your friends are doing it, it's something to be taken seriously.
Vegan.
please, give it up, humans were not meant to be vegetarians, for your own good, and for your health, give it up, You will see that eating meat makes you a happier person!
Go to www.meat.org and watch the movie. If you can live with that, go ahead. Some people don't have the willpower to change their eating habits.
Vegan food is great. You just probably are no good at cooking.
People like you need Fast Food Restaurants. Get some nice fatty burgers and fries.
Vegan
That's a decision only you can make.
If you are fine with eating meat and want to eat meat I would say eat it.
NO CUZ VEGETARIANS ROCK!!!! xD
just eat meat don't listen what others have to say...BE YOURSELF! if you want to eat meat than do
If you ask me, there are more pros than cons to being a vegetarian. A vegatarian saves an average of 185 lives every year. Also, it takes 2,400 gallons of water to make just 1 lb of meat vs. the 500 gallons it takes to put food on a vegetarian's plate. There are many health benefits, as well; not eating meat lowers the risk of heart disease and alzheimers. If you are worried about what your friends and family think, you can politely tell them that you have made a consious decision to not eat meat. If they keep questioning you about it then you can give them more reasons why you choose to not eat animals. You can find information on the internet and even show them videos on youtube about what they do to the animals that they want you to have for dinner. You can look for "Meet Your Meat" on youtube for video footage of meat farms. I have been a vegetarian for 10 years and am now a vegan. I can totally relate to friends and family members harrassing me about being vegetarian, but when it comes down to it, it's not my problem, it's not about me, it's about them. They have insecurities that cause them to act passionatley weird about what you choose to eat, or what you choose to not eat, for that matter. As long as you repect their decision to eat meat, they should respect your decision not to eat meat. Hope I helped :D
"If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be a vegetarian." ~Paul McCartney
you cant just give in to peer pressure, whenever they start talking back to you, you can tell them, "at least im not going to have any type of protein defficiency"
