Will i become accustomed to gassy foods?!

Question: Will i become accustomed to gassy foods?
I have been a successful vegan for about 3 years now, with no difficulty in this area. However, recently i began adding in loads of things like cabbage soup and beans into my diet (its getting cold out) and im experiencing the side effects. If i continue to eat these foods, will i eventually become accustomed to them and not have gas anymore? How long will this take? ect. ect. k thankyou :3

I wouldn't say that you would have no gas at all from these foods, but over time, it should diminish a little. They're gassy foods, so you can't expect zero gas if you eat them on a regular basis. It's not a big deal unless it causes you physical discomfort. People pass gas an average of 15-25 times per day, even if they don't own up to it. :) It's normal, nothing to be embarrassed about. :) I did notice when I started eating more gaseous foods several years ago that the gas got to be a little less after maybe a few months of eating them regularly. There are still some foods that give me lots of gas even though I eat them pretty regularly, like any cruciferous veggies, lots of garlic or onions at once, etc. With most beans, I probably get about half as much gas as I used to years ago.
